Something I love about Animal Crossing is. It's always welcoming.
You can play every day and run around doing things, and every single day your villagers greet you like you are one of the best parts of their day. Their days don't seem complete without you going up to see them. Some days, you might not have enough time to greet everyone, and that's okay, they'll be just as glad to see you tomorrow or the day after or whenever you see each other next.
You can go months and months without playing, and your neighbors will show concern in your return, but still be just as happy to see you, their favorite person, as if you never left. The only penalty for an extended absence is a few pesky bugs in your house, but even then it's fun to run around, get reacquainted with your home, and squash all the little crawlies to tidy up your space again.
It's so relaxing. It's so encouraging. It's so simple but just so, so welcoming.
