Living in the end times is rough...

Pictured is an image of a heavily layered Googg during the Great Freezing, an event during the Black Hole Era, where, due to a combination of large parts of the sun being consumed by a black hole and Rüs's orbit being thrown out by the chaotic gravitational forces, the planet entered a never ending winter. Previously, the planet experienced little to no snow, let alone snowstorms that caused 20ft layers of snow. The blocks in the image are the roofs of what used to be homes, to give a sense of scale about the magnitude of the event.

Nearly half of the Googg population was lost to the cold, and Buggles were nearly driven to extinction, going down to just a few dozen thousand. The Great Freezing lasted nearly 50 years before the Rüs stabilized to a warmer orbit, but still further than it had been before the Black Hole Era, forcing the vast majority of creatures to migrate to the equator to get a sense of the past.

Thankfully, those who remained were able to adapt, and with the advent of steam power, even thrive (in the comfort of their heated homes) And after everything warmed up, the quality of live rose higher than it was pre-freezing.

The dominant species of Rûs, inhabiting every continent and enjoying post-industrial revolution technology at the moment.

They have a light exoskeleton, hydraulic blood legs, and my favorite thing, their main method of communication. Those two horns? antlers? appendages? idk, those two thingies can change color and make tons of patterns, like an octopus. They don't have a method of speaking by vibrating sound waves like we do, so they rely on different colors and shapes. It also just so happens that those thingies are their noses as well, having a hole at the very top of both for inhaling, and the little branch for exhaling. I'll go more into depth about the individual workings of their body, but for now this is just a little intro for one of the main guys. Yeah that's right, one of. You'll see.

Googgs are made up of a loose internal bone structure combined with a light exoskeleton, and mostly rely on their muscles for support and movement, which is possible with the low gravity of their planet.
