Hi! Love your world building and critters, and I just wanted to ask how big/small are the buggles and Googs compared to humans? (sorry if you've answered this before).

Thank you for asking! Buggles are a bit more 5 feet in length on average, and Googgs are around a 2 feet tall and 2 and a half long.

Buggle plane!!!1!1!1!1!!!!!1!11!!!!! During the Great Freezing, Buggles were forced to look into above the surface rather than digging into the ground (cause of all the snow), and as the industrial revolution spread to what remained of Buggle civilization, they looked even further above the ground, into the sky, inventing planes. Pictured is an early Buggle airplane coming in for a water landing.

The Final War.

The Final War was a war waged between effectively the entirety of the Googg and Buggle populations. Little is known about the war due to the sheer amount of destruction it caused, including the very reason for the start of the war in the first place. The amount of destruction could be compared to the burning of the Library of Alexandria, but much, much worse. Any point in history before the war has little to no specific knowledge about it remaining, due to any living memory having died in the war, and the vast majority of physical knowledge keepers like libraries having been burned. The only people to survive the war were those in favor of peace, which could be one of the main causes for the long era of peace and prosperity that followed the time of recovery afterwards. Pictured is a cave drawing (more like a wall drawing) depicting a Googg and a Buggle fighting.

Living in the end times is rough...

Pictured is an image of a heavily layered Googg during the Great Freezing, an event during the Black Hole Era, where, due to a combination of large parts of the sun being consumed by a black hole and Rüs's orbit being thrown out by the chaotic gravitational forces, the planet entered a never ending winter. Previously, the planet experienced little to no snow, let alone snowstorms that caused 20ft layers of snow. The blocks in the image are the roofs of what used to be homes, to give a sense of scale about the magnitude of the event.

Nearly half of the Googg population was lost to the cold, and Buggles were nearly driven to extinction, going down to just a few dozen thousand. The Great Freezing lasted nearly 50 years before the Rüs stabilized to a warmer orbit, but still further than it had been before the Black Hole Era, forcing the vast majority of creatures to migrate to the equator to get a sense of the past.

Thankfully, those who remained were able to adapt, and with the advent of steam power, even thrive (in the comfort of their heated homes) And after everything warmed up, the quality of live rose higher than it was pre-freezing.

Pictured is a Buggle war vet (most buggles are war vets due to their long lives and warring nature) and their Googg friend, who is riding them (which is a NORMAL thing and PLATONIC)

The buggle has many scars from its battles, having lost one of its mandibles? arms? teeth?, which it has replaced with a homemade mechanical prosthetic. Its shell? armor? keratin? has also been damaged, and is slowly repairing itself, layer by layer.

Despite their grizzled nature and intimidating appearance, they've calmed down in their later years of life, making friends with the local Googg population.
