For people who didn’t know, if you honestly don’t want to talk in online class for whatever reason, there’s a way, so that even if you unmute, that no one will hear you.

You first go to ‘Settings’ 

Then you go to ‘Sound’ 

Then you go to ‘Input’ or ‘Input Volume’

And just lower the input volume down to 0 so now, if you unmute, no one can hear you.

(Note; if you want to join a Google Meet with this, keep the Input volume at a normal sound, then AFTER you join, lower it down to 0 otherwise it won’t let you mute at all)

EDIT: I did this on a Macbook, so I’m super sorry if it doesn’t work, but my sister who’s not on a Mac can also do this, so I’m hopeful that it should work

Does anyone have advise for kids with ADHD struggling with zoom classes?

My nephews are fourteen and are failing this year because 8 hour zoom meetings are utterly not working with their learning style. They are struggling to pay attention, or retain information and often end up giving up and just going to do something else with their time, since they often feel as if they cannot learn. They school is unwilling to find alternate forms of education (such as pre recorded lessons which they excelled with in the past since they could access it with breaks in between.) Does anyone with similar frustrations have advice to help them get through these day long calls and lectures in a home environment where they struggle to focus? I think their lack of success in school right now is beginning to truly frustrate them. They have told me themselves that they feel as if they cannot succeed, so why bother to try?

I just went through half the emotional spectrum in one 80 minute theatre class.

From “oh my god I missed these people so much I’m grinning like an idiot, look it’s all my friends!!!” to “man I’m getting intense FOMO because I wasn’t able to take musical theatre” to “Oh my gosh I love that friend so much. I almost want to pin her. Man I should text her later.....wait a fucking second. do I have a crush on her? No. Right? Wait what.
