Will Lenney x Reader

Summary- The reader surprises Will at a panel after fighting in another country for a year.

Laurence sat at the table editing the latest XO Give Advice video. He was going through Will's clips and almost flinched when he saw what the querie was.

It was about a kid wanting to join the army but not knowing how to tell his family.

Will was quite hostile when responding. "You'll get shot. And also everyone around you is going to miss you and they're never gonna know if you're okay. They'll be living in dread never knowing that you are safe and haven't killed yourself for your country! You go away for months, maybe years, at a time and only get to send a few letters. One time they'll tell you that you'll been gone for thrre months and the next thing you know you'll be gone for almost a year! You can't call or text. It's so scary, not only you, but for every person in your life!"

Laurence sighed and rubbed his eyes at Will's response. Laurence knew you had been away for a while but didn't realise it was coming close to year. He quickly called over his friends and devised a plan.

They planned for it to happen for the next two months when they'll be doing a panel at Summer In The City.

Laurence wrote you a letter detailing his plan. He sent it off and was pleasantly surprised when he got a letter back from you explaining that you'd love to join in and you were due to return home the month of Summer In The City. You both promised not to tell Will and the plan was under way.

The audience silenced at the sudden change in lighting. The once bright lights went out and no one could see a thing apart from a few torches from phones.

"Um stay calm guys, we'll be get this sorted." Laurence spoke into his microphone which was still working. He then stood up and walked to a near by worker who was pretending to talk into her earpiece. "Is everything going according to plan?" He whispered trying not to draw in anyone's attention.

She nodded before replying, "Sir the lights will be back on as soon as possible!" Her voice was loud hoping to not raise any suspicion.

Laurence made his way back to his seat and talked into the microphone that everything would be back on in a few minuets.

Suddenly, one light flashed onto Will. His eyebrows furrowed with confusion as he looked at his friends who shrugged innocently. Will brought the microphone to his lips and said, "Sorry guys, I have no clue what's going on right now." And let out a loud laugh.

Then, another light flashed in the middle of the aisle where no one sat. And then another one further back. Everyone started to shuffle in their seats and mumble with confusion.

"If everyone could stay in their seats, all will be alright." Brian said into his microphone as another light further back flashed on.

One by one the aisle lights flashed on backwards unroll they reached the end where a figure stood. Will's breath caught in his throat. He looked at his friends who grinned. Their you stood dressed in military uniform and a wide smile on your face. You grabbed a microphone from a worker standing near you and brought it to your lips.

"Hi Will." You said simply and immediately Will dropped his microphone onto his seat and jumped off stage. Everyone started to clap as you sprinted forward towards one and other. You met in the middle where you embraced one and other whilst Will picked you up and spun you around. The cheers got louder and all the lights turned back on revealing the audience and the three boys on stage. You let out a few tears into Will's shoulder as he out you down.

You pulled out of your embrace and looked at each other before engulfing each other once again. Neither of you wanting to let go.

"I'm never letting you go again." Will sobbed.

"I don't plan to." You whispered. "I've missed out on you for a year. We have a lot to catch up on."

"I'm so proud of you, ya know?" Will spoke as he let you go. "You have seen horrific things and had to leave everyone behind. But you somehow still act yourself and sent me a letter every time you could and help people. You make me, and everyone else, so, so incredibly proud. I love you so much and I don't want to wave you goodbye and hope it's not the last ever again!"

"I love you too." You sobbed as the two of you stood up.

"Let's give it up to the happy couple everyone!" Stephen cheered and everyone joined in.
