October 2023: Ouroboros Is A Data Variant
What I'm about to write isn't fan theory. It is what I believe no matter what the Marvel Universe says in the future. Ouroboros in the Loki series is a variant of Data from The Goonies. You might write that off to nostalgia given my age but consider this article about Superman '78 #6 talking about the Goonies making a single panel appearance in a Superman comic. For the uninitiated, DC & Marvel have collaborated in multiversal crossovers over the years. In those stories, The Hulk has battled Superman & Wolverine has defeated Lobo. Who is to say that a variant of Data wasn't "recruited" by the TVA. Why was that Data recruited? What would Data be like if the Goonies had failed to save the Goondocks? What would he be like if the Fratelli family had been successful in killing all the Goonies but him. Given either of those scenarios, his retreat into gadgetry would be both a distraction from, what he might see, as his past failures & his best hope at redemption.
