Canvas Kids

Last Friday I had the chance to devote some time towards our youth. It was my pleasure to be present especially in a time where Role Models are scarce, there’s a much larger generational gap that’s continuingly growing. These kids are smarter, more advanced than ever before at their age.

I visited Andrew Jackson Academy in Suitland MD. I was born and raised in Prince George’s County and a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools. Coming back to talk to kids is something I’ve always loved to do, I see myself in these kids and want to see them Get Out Of Negative Situations. That’s what my brand is built on. It’s not only the motto it’s my everyday lifestyle. I’ve been in 200+ schools this year and everyone I’ve been in I’ve seen a little bit of me in one of those kids. If I had a degree I would probably be teaching, but that’s a different story for a different day.

I wanted to teach the Kids about branding and the importance of logos and marketing. As well as a quick print and press of some ski masks they designed and got to keep. The excitement of getting to create something and keep it was electric in there. They learned about my brand and my artwork and I learned about their goals and aspirations and future brands. Truly can’t thank Vitt enough for the opportunity to visit her Canvas Kids and learn just as much as I taught.

Im A Legend!

Wow almost two months late, just now getting around to updating you guys on life at 34. It’s different to say the least. For starters I have a new job well, two months in now, but new to the blog. Im a professional photographer at Classic Photography and Imaging. A small company that creates yearbooks and school ID’s based out of Elkridge and North Carolina. It has been a blessing in disguise so far. Steady pay every week doing something i love, and learning a few things as well under the photography umbrella. Having a job has been something new to me as you all may or may not have known, I have been self employed for the passed 10 years so waking up on somebody else’s time and clocking in has taken some getting used to. One thing I’ll never get used to is traffic. That is one thing I hate and will never understand...

I worked Viola Takeover weekend the same weekend my birthday fell on (August 23rd), Paid gig and Free weed from the Biggest Black Owned Cannabis Company in the Country. And I bought myself Curren$y concert/meet and greet tickets a few months back because 1, he hasn’t performed in DC in years due to the pandemic, and 2 it also fell on my birthday weekend. 3. I had just finished my Curren$y drawing and AR Digital Artwork so I put it on tees and gave him one. My actual birthday I spent with Ash at Dinner all dressed up on my Grown Man, thought it was bout time i bought a new suit. Also its always nice when we do date night she knows some amazing restaurants. Spending most of my free time shooting and working gigs my birthday week, Ash tricked me into thinking I had a gig and surprised me with a birthday happy hour at 12 stories down Southwest on the waterfront with the guys. First time I’ve ever been surprised and it was really special to me. Ash is really an amazing person not just a girlfriend but a super woman in my life.

The biggest blessing of all has been watching my son grow up and now almost walking on his own. That boy is going to run ramped once he gets his balance on point lol. 34 feels like I’m stepping into my greatness and squaring away my future in a more mature and purposeful way. My family keeps me going when my back hurts, when i don’t want to get up for work, when I don’t feel like editing, when I rather smoke instead, its ash and Phoenix that keep me focused on my goals.

Life’s still good, I haven’t forgotten about you guys… much more to come before the end of the year!

Tom Talks Episode One

I had the pleasure of being the inaugural guest on my Guy @Tommy_Picklz new Podcast at The Washington Informer, called “Tom Talks”. We spoke on the brand’s inception and where I am now with life and fashion. How and when we became friends, and how much has changed since then. Its great not only running into people like Thomas and getting to catch up; but to do so using platforms we’ve built over the years, cross promoting and really becoming what we wanted to be back then, at least for me that’s how I feel. When I think back to my Boooogie.blogspot.com days, I dreamt of running a label, sourcing fabrics, and researching brands, Shooting Videos, and designing Jerseys and whatever else I want to design. So to get reminded of those times and walk down memory lane its refreshing and so crazy that you can really do things your way and I’m the proof of it.

Shoutout to The Washington Informer, WIBridge, and Lafyette(sp). I appreciate you guys allowing me in your space and allowing me to create with you. Thomas and Bmo thank you again for the opportunity. Lets do this more often. Full Podcast dropping soon.

Life in 2021

Life is Good.

For the first time in a while I don’t have not one complaint in the world. Ofcourse we all have our shortcomings every now and again but I’m kinda just used to rolling with the punches and finding the good out of every mistake. Cryptocurrency is Booming, Covid is on the decline, and I got a chance to Take a road trip to Philly for a couple days, get it “a couple” days…

Creatively I feel in a good groove, constantly crafting, and sharpening my skillset. From Photography, to Film, to even how I Design now. I picked up an iPad Air and an Apple Pencil a few weeks ago and have been focusing on Graphic Design and Drawing using the Procreate app. Here’s a few of my first commission pieces below.

Working in the shop has its ups and downs, getting used to sharing space and controlling my urge to do things my way has been a task, but like I said there’s good in every situation and I’ve been enjoying this learning process. Business is doing great though as far as GoonMilk and AvantGarde Media. I Snagged my first video credit this year, locked in with a few businesses to create content, and still Printing and Pressing for any and everyone I know.

I’m continuing to cross my personal goals off the list, bought a car beginning of the year, Being a better Boooogie is priority number 1. My iPad was next on the list, got that. Now I need my own Art show, Then 10k online sales by year end. Speaking it all into existence and prayerfully planning my steps accordingly. Actually bought my first canvas this week so it’s up from here!

Shoutout to the Support System behind me. keep challenging and pushing me further toward greatness. Continue to keep me and my family in prayer. Continue Supporting “The Thread” for Ashlee and her cause, I appreciate how you guys showed up and showed out, and she’s still taking donations until the end of May. Truly one of the most genuine spirits I’ve come across and to see her pour her all into something is really a beautiful thing, so thank you all for supporting her and her cause.

Honestly with everything going on in the world I’m just happy to be alive and motivated, a lot of people have given up and don’t even know it. Lost in the Sauce… I’m just glad I’m Gucci!
