This artwork is based on one of my past dreams. I didn't make it too graphic also because I still have to learn how to do that.

Explanation:

I was in middle-school back then, I was preparing to go to school, but I forgot to put the rabbit back inside her cage.

When I came back from school the rabbit had disappeared , I was panicking, I checked everywhere and asking the neighbours if they saw anything. I called my dad to inform what happened so he called the Animal ambulance.

Eventually we got a call back about the ambulance only having found her body. We weren't sure what killed her, I already assumed it was one of the neighbours' cat.

Since that incident I had nightmares about her and my mind was pretty vivid and detailed and imaging how it possible would have looked like the way she passed. (I don't have these nightmares anymore obviously, I grew out of it luckily)

I still feel guilty about what happened, I just kept in mind we tried to give her a free and happy life.

(This is just me indulging in describing lich Alzmyr’s beautiful body.)

“Does it hurt?”

Altzmyr paused for a moment, then glanced at his withered, preserved body parts.

He moved his shriveled fingers and contemplated the joints between them, the wonderfully preserved sinew and tendon under cured soft leather, stitched and secured with necromancy. He passed his fingers across his opposite arm, and tried to pinch, but his skin and flesh were taught and tough against his dead bone.

He moved his neck, as he did so he felt tendons shift and stretch like old rubber bands. He passed a hand to his back and brushed the tips of his fingers across where his vertebrae stuck out, and then around his dark, soft, luxurious, but noticeably dry hair.

He looked himself in the mirror, and saw two purple points of light staring back at him from his eyes, where they were surrounded by supple, leathery flesh that formed deep-set wizened eyes. He took a moment to admire the work he has done preserving his face: noses and ears often fall off and most liches tend to not bother with them, but Altzmyr did. He caressed his skin and noted the way his phantom nerves responded on both sides of the touch. His fingers brushed upon his lips and then down to his neck.

“No, it does not. I can see where your concern comes from. It looks awful, but it’s the result of a lot of dedication and conviction. I’d say it was worth it, but few would choose to be like this.”

“What do you get from it?”

“I feel...like a weight has been off my shoulders, like time has slowed down to my own pace. I see the beauty of the world though eyes that seem impossible to see yet they do. I am one with my magic, it flows through me like blood in the living and resists the efforts to be banished by abjuration. I am timeless and a contradiction, but part of this world just as you and anyone else; I feel rooted to the world of the living instead of seeking an afterlife, I feel like I can live again and again, and I am.
