Sydney Foodie Adventure 2020 - Ramen and BBQ
Below is a list of delicious ramen and BBQ outlets that I visited during my recent trip to Sydney:
1. Goryon-San : 47 Reservoir St, Surry Hills NSW 2010
A chance encounter with Goryon-San provided an opportunity for me to enjoy a beautiful bowl of hakata ramen paired with juicy chicken karaage and a refreshing glass of Suntory on a sunny weekday afternoon.
2. RaRa Ramen : 66b Regent St, Redfern NSW 2016
Sampling one of the finest ramen in Sydney at RaRa Ramen which is renowned for its creamy tonkotsu shio ramen topped with free range chashu, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, shallots, and shredded black fungus.
Despite the long wait during the dinner rush hour, this bowl of ramen was well worth the effort. Freshly made noodles mixed with the best toppings and a secret tonkotsu broth heavily guarded by its owners is indeed a recipe for culinary success.
3. Tontaro Honten Ramen : 339 Sussex St, Sydney NSW 2000
Starting a brand new day with another bowl of ramen at @tontaro.honten which is famous for its hakata ramen.
For this visit, I enjoyed the juicy karaage ramen paired with a gentle broth and noodles made fresh daily. Definitely worthy of a visit for ramen afficinados.
4. Bon Gal Bi : 375 Pitt Street, NSW 2000
Strolling around Haymarket on a busy weekday evening brought me to Bon Gal Bi to enjoy a comforting bowl of tofu soup accompanied by BBQ Pork Belly and Beef Tongue. For me, the beef tongue was the dish of the day as it was thickly sliced to allow diners to enjoy its texture and flavors.
5. Gyuzou : Shop 4 339 Sussex Street Corner of liverpool st &, Harbour St, Sydney NSW 2000
With one of my buddies back in time for the evening, it was time to visit the popular Gyuzou to enjoy unlimited servings of wagyu in a 90-min buffet. As it takes a while for the staff to serve the dishes due to huge crowds, please plan ahead on what you like to eat and order in bulk to cut down on the waiting time. Most importantly, remember to book ahead to avoid disappointment!
