Every K-pop fan knew one universal truth:
if a camera was on Y/N, the 14th member of SEVENTEEN… she was definitely dancing.
Didn’t matter where — behind Mingyu during an interview, next to Woozi while he was trying to talk about their comeback, or in the middle of a live where DK was singing something completely unrelated.
If a BTS song started playing in the background, you could bet your entire playlist that Y/N would start dancing to it.
It all started innocently during a Going Seventeen taping.
The staff were testing audio, and someone’s playlist accidentally started playing “Mic Drop.”
Every member froze — except for Y/N.
Before anyone could blink, she was mid-choreo, hitting the beat way too hard, facial expressions and all.
Hoshi’s jaw dropped.
“Wait— wait, she knows this??”
Woozi: “She knows all of it.”
Y/N: does J-Hope’s shoulder roll perfectly “YEAH I DO.”
Cue Seungkwan dramatically clutching his chest, yelling, “OUR OWN MEMBER IS AN ARMY???”
After that moment went viral, fans started compiling clips —
“Y/N dancing to BTS songs in random moments.”
There were hundreds.
🎥 Caratland fan meet (2023): BTS’s “Idol” starts playing faintly during sound check.
→ Y/N immediately starts jumping around doing the chorus move.
🎥 Inkigayo backstage: Mingyu’s trying to film a selfie video —
→ Y/N’s in the back, absolutely nailing the “Boy With Luv” choreography.
🎥 Airport fancam: Y/N walking normally, then hears “Run BTS” on someone’s phone.
→ Drops her bag. Starts dancing. Security just sighs.
The next Weverse live was chaos.
Carat: “Y/N ARE YOU AN ARMY BE HONEST 😭😭😭”
Y/N, sipping her drink like it’s nothing: “Oh, 100%. Have been since debut. I’ve got their whole discography on shuffle.”
Cue Seungkwan from offscreen:
“Y/N, YOU WERE LITERALLY DANCING TO ‘DOPE’ IN THE STUDIO YESTERDAY.”
Y/N: “That’s because it is dope.”
Vernon: “She’s not wrong.”
Hoshi: “She knows every BTS choreography better than ours.”
Y/N: “That’s not true—”
Joshua: “Do the ‘ON’ choreo.”
Y/N: immediately starts the ‘ON’ choreo flawlessly
Jeonghan: “You proved his point.”
Later in interviews, the members would confirm it themselves.
Interviewer: “Who listens to the most music in SEVENTEEN?”
Joshua: “Probably Y/N.”
Woozi: “But it’s all BTS.”
Mingyu: “Sometimes she’ll walk into the studio blasting ‘Fire.’”
Hoshi: “And then she’ll start choreographing to it.”
Y/N just laughed.
“Before I debuted, I used to learn BTS dances for fun! They were my role models. I’d watch their performances to study stamina, expressions, everything. They made me want to work harder.”
The interviewer smiled.
“So… you’re really an ARMY?”
Y/N: grinning proudly “ARMY and CARAT. Dual citizenship.”
At this point, SEVENTEEN had fully embraced it.
If BTS played during rehearsals, everyone automatically cleared the space — because they knew what was coming.
“Go on, Y/N,” Hoshi would say, clapping. “Show ‘em.”
She’d roll her shoulders, drop into formation, and absolutely destroy the choreography, every move sharp and clean like she belonged on their stage.
The others would hype her up like crazy.
“OKAY MISS DANCER OF THE YEAR!” Seungkwan screamed.
“WHO TAUGHT YOU THAT?! OH WAIT—BANGTAN DID!” DK added, wheezing.
And Carats loved it.
Fan edits flooded social media with captions like:
“Y/N being the most obvious ARMY in existence 😭💜”
“She’s gonna end up in a BTS concert fan cam at this rate.”
“Imagine Jungkook seeing her hit the ‘Run BTS’ move perfectly— chaos.”
Eventually, even BTS themselves noticed.
During a talk show, Jungkook laughed when the host mentioned her.
“Oh yeah, I’ve seen her videos! She dances really well. I’m flattered she practices our songs.”
Cue ARMY and CARAT fandoms collectively losing their minds.
Y/N later posted a Weverse message:
“If Jungkook said he’s seen my dancing, I can retire now 🫡”
But of course, retirement wasn’t in her vocabulary.
The next week, during SEVENTEEN’s own Music Bank stage, when “Dope” played softly in the background before their intro, the camera panned past her for 0.3 seconds —
And there she was, again, hitting the exact footwork like her life depended on it.
Fans lost it.
Comments flooded in:
“Y/N PLEASEEEE YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE PROMOTING YOUR OWN SONG 😭😭😭”
“At this point, she’s the 8th BTS member and the 14th SEVENTEEN member.”
Even Woozi couldn’t stay mad.
After another one of her spontaneous BTS dance sessions, he just sighed and said,
“You know what? If it keeps her that passionate about performing, I’ll allow it.”
Hoshi clapped. “SEE?! She’s just... a performance artist!”
Y/N smirked.
“Exactly. Call me Performance Unit 2.0.”
And as Seungkwan yelled “ARMY CARAT FOREVER!” in the background, Y/N grabbed the nearest mic, smiled into the camera, and said—
“Next time, I’m covering Run BTS on stage. Just wait.”
End.
A/N: Mmm How 'bout a part 2 to this? I was thinkin' that Bang PD invited just Y/N to perform with BTS at a venue, maybe? Hehe
