Review time, not only of my hiking gear but all of my possessions. I started to get rid of all the things I thought I needed to have but actually don't need at all. I canceled contracts/insurances and I am still sleeping on an air-mattress on the floor, it's actually comfortable. In the end I'm left with a suitcase full of clothing and a chest with all my other belongings. With every bits and pieces I am giving away I feel more free and flexible. Less things to worry about. And that's one thing the #pct2016 taught me and how I do it with my hiking gear too. Some things I carried at the beginning were left behind soon (Kindl, Camera,..) and the essentials are getting updated step by step towards being simpler and lighter (#gossamergear tarp, #montane minimus smock rain jacket,...). Some more updates are waiting for me to be picked up in Arizona and I am excited to use it all! What habit or learning did you bring home from your hikes?

Last week I officially finished the PCT. Last year the fires on the trail closed a few portions of it. Thankfully, a ton of hard work from hundred of volunteers through @pctassociation and others it was re-opened for this years thru hiking season. So, with the help of @justinhelmkamp @amit.u.halfway @jesskraft and Sue Nelson I was able to finish! #pct2017 was an amazing year. I can only imagine where we will meet up next.
