Please tell me you are going to write us a book with all your knowledge and wisdom collected in it! Also, is there a second book of your novel? Read it long ago and can't remember the name but it will be nice if it have part two.
Ohh heavens, this hit a NERVE, okay I'm going to talk about this, but, please, be gentle with me about it, this is something I've avoided talking about for a reason.
I do want to write a book, but I feel I'm actually too young to do it! I should live in separatism and learn the way of nature completely before I would decide to share it in a book form.
And the novel, okay, that's the hard part. For those who don't know, I've written an all-lesbian novel, set in a far future where males went extinct, and women have gained magical powers. The main characters are a witch and a fairy who meet and go on adventures together, and they go on to find out some secrets of their past. The name of the book is Thornwood, and I left the ending opened, there was more to come. As soon as I posted the first part (I was so confident back then, I haven't even proof-read the poor thing, I just posted it on tumblr in a frenzy), I started writing the second, and I was so excited, I was writing almost every day, I had half of it completely done, and THEN, against all of my expectations, my hard disk crashed. The entire book was on it. I never saved it anywhere else, because I wasn't THINKING.
I never cared about anything else on that hard disk, but the loss of the book was unbearable. I've since sat down and tried re-writing it, and it felt painful and horrible for every single step of the way. The story is still very much alive in my head, I've never forgotten or quit on it, but I've been feeling so ashamed and weak for not being able to rewrite it, I never gathered the courage to ask for support when I needed it.
The second book featured an all-female village and a lot of dealing with trauma and having support while doing it! I haven't given up on it, every now and then I open the word document with the first few chapters and stare at it until I break down, so basically it's just not going so well right now.
Thank you for remembering my first novel, anon! And for asking about the second, it truly means a lot to me that someone can still remember, even though it was years ago. I don't think I can write anything else until Thornwood part two is done, it's going to be called 'Forest of the Falling Sky', because I decided the novels should be named after the most prominent forest location in them. It might also have a dragon in the second, never written part! For anyone interest to read the first, here's a link.
