Letters To You AU

D E A N awoke that morning unwillingly, his eyes fluttering open. The white ceiling coming into view as the sleep escaped. His hands rubbed the weariness from his face. He had no desire to get up that morning, not on this particular day. Today he was enlisting into the army, just a few days ago he was mandated to sign up. "All strong and able bodied men are required to join." Dean had laughed when he'd read the posters they'd put up,

r e q u i r e d was the wrong word. They were struggling, winning, so any man who was trainable was forced to join.

It was not something to get excited about. Everyone was on a schedule, some men never got to see their families again. That was what scared him. He'd leave h e r behind, it wasn't so much dying that scared him. But leaving her behind, that's what he had t o loose. What was living? If it wasn't with her, if he died, if he was missing in action, he wouldn't get to see her again. He turned over careful not to wake her from her slumber. L o v e wasn't something he played around with, Dean use to sleep with many women but that had changed when he made her acquaintance.

A g a i n this wasn't something to get excited about  Once turned over he studied her features, taking in everything about her before getting up.
