A Heart Grown in Winter | Robb Stark
Main Navi | GOT Masterlist
Pairing: Robb Stark x Alys Reed (oc) - (bare with me, it does eventually feature Robb) Warnings: arranged marriage, sexual content, emotional heartbreak, swearing Synopsis: Young Alys Reed arrived at Winterfell as a ward, finding her heart torn between two brothers. A secret love blossoms with Jon Snow, Lord Eddard's bastard, in the quiet of the godswood. But Alys is betrothed to the heir, Robb Stark, and now she faces a life she never wanted. Alys learns that love can grown in the most unlikely circumstances, with someone she never thought she could love. Word Count: 3,576
The journey had felt like a thousand years. For weeks, Alys Reed had swayed on her saddle before the sun-drenched greens of the riverlands slowly leeched away into a landscape of stoic hills and skeletal trees. The air lost its floral breath and took on a sharp bite that stung her cheeks and made her burrow into her fur-lined cloak.
One moment there were only pine forests and a grey sky, the next was walls of stone and towers hewn from dark granite. It was not beautiful like the carved white stone of her home, Riverwood. The banners that snapped in the wind did not show flowers or songbird, but a snarling direwolf on a field of ice-grey. The very air she breathed was of wet stone, of pine pitch, or earth and woodsmoke.
Her small hands clutched the pommel of the saddle of her father's horse. She was here to foster, to learn the ways of a great house and become a lady worthy of a strategic match. Her mother had already bid her farewell on the docks of Riverwood, reminding her to be brave and good.

THE CLASH OF STEEL rang out in the forest clearing, men shouting and horses screaming as the ambush unfolded. i had only seconds to act when i saw the spear aimed at robb stark’s unguarded side.
If Robb had marry Walder frey's daughter no matter what would he make y/n his secret mistress or would he go full on Rheagal and marry y/n secretly?
Looking at his choices within the show where he openly married Talisa, I wouldn't put it above him to marry his darling secretly. Robb tends to be driven by his own emotions more than he lets on and that despite being a good commander and warrior. Going with an AU where he actually becomes King of The North, he would have the authority to do so. And if Walder Frey calls for his head or shames you very openly, Robb is going to have his head instead rolling around as he won't tolerate any disrespect and insults thrown at you.
“he doesn't deserve you.”
you laughed, “according to you, no one ever deserves me.”

my little sibling mistook your dog for a reindeer and thats the story of how your dog ended up eating carrots inside my house au (@pynchs)
“Sweetie, that’s not Rudolph!” You smile as your three-year old sister pets your neighbour’s dog, repeatedly calling him Rudolph because of his pink nose.
“Wudolph!” She giggles and the dog barks excitedly, licking her face as she squeals.
“Baby that’s Grey Wind! You know Grey Wind!” You pet the dog between his ears and he smiles up at you. “You’re so handsome!”
Grey Wind is your neighbour Robb’s dog. He was a little standoffish and god was he hot but you two never really hit it off. You love Wind though.
“Wind?” Your little sister looks at Grey Wind, confused for a second until the pup continues to lick her face. “Wudolph!”
“Okay, fine. Rudolph,” you laugh and take a picture as Maya runs around and Wind chases her playfully. “Now come on, let’s go home.”
“Wudolph!” She squeals, holding the puppy as they make their way over to you.
“Yes, say bye to Rudolph so we can go home and have some cookies!” You lean down to pick her up, but she’s not having it.
“No no! Wudolph come!” The dog’s ears perk and he stands up excitedly, tail high in the air.
“No, no! Rudolph, sit! Robb will be home any minute and he doesn’t like it when we ‘bother’ Wind,” that last part was whispered and paired with an eye-roll but Maya doesn’t buy it. And at this point, Rudolph is also not buying it. He’s sitting up straight and ready to go home with you.
“Wudolph!” Maya is crying in your ear and reaching for her friend and you groan, giving in and agreeing to deal with the consequences later.
“Fine,” you groan and sigh. “Rudolph can come, too. Besides, who leaves a pup out on a day this snowy?”
An hour later, you have Maya tucked in for a nap and Grey Wind is sitting at the edge of her bed with a carrot in his mouth. You can’t resist taking another picture, smiling as the dog nuzzles against Maya.
You make your way into the living room, ready to relax with a cup of hot chocolate only to be met with angry knocks that sound like they’re about to tear down your door.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” You open the door, yelling at whoever was standing on the opposite side of the door. “I have a child napping and a dog curled up by her side, will you please--?”
“Correction, you have my dog curled up by her side. Stop your yelling and give me my dog,” your neighbour, the incredibly sexy/angry Robb Stark, cuts you off and leaves you a little dumbfounded.
“You left your dog out on a snowy day. Maya thought he was Rudolph and they were both being whiny babies so I brought him in. Relax, Robb,” you glare at him and he smirks, rolling his eyes.
“If you wanted my attention all you had to do was ask,” he shrugs and takes a step closer.
“Shut up and get inside. It’s cold out there. Your dog is asleep, as is my sister. Let them rest. You can take him back home later,” you walk away from the door, letting Robb choose whether he wanted to leave or stay.
Meanwhile, you make another cup of hot chocolate, prepared to drink this one yourself as well. You come into the living room and are surprised to be met with Robb Stark sitting on your couch.
“I found my way inside, I hope that’s okay,” he smiles at you, slightly embarrassed from his earlier charade.
“It’s perfectly fine. Here, have some hot chocolate,” you hand it to him and he accepts it, a smirk gracing his face as he notices where you’re standing. “What’s with the face?”
“You can’t be serious,” he laughs, pointing at the mistletoe. You, in turn, roll your eyes and make your way to the single couch and plop down.
“Relax, that was accidental,” you sip on your hot chocolate, trying to relax but now all you can think about is Robb and how it would feel to kiss him. So you clear your throat and pick up the remote. “Anything you want to watch?”
“See if Home Alone 2 is on Netflix. I haven’t seen that in a while,” he sips his hot chocolate and places a hand over the back of the couch, finally relaxing a bit.
“Great choice. I already dislike you a little less,” you smile and he chuckles softly, shaking his head at you as you play the movie.
He loves this movie, but he can’t seem to take his eyes off of you. The way your eyes crinkle when you smile and your nose twitches right before you laugh. You two have been neighbours for a couple years, but this is the first he’s hearing of any child living with you. He’s always had a crush on you and maybe that’s why he’s distanced himself, but damn it’-it’s almost Christmas!
“So,” he clears his throat and you look up at him. “We’ve been neighbours for two years now, why am I just hearing about your child?”
“Hm,” you rub your chin in contemplation and he shakes his head at you. “Maybe it’s because you’re always so distant and moody whenever I try to talk to you? I don’t know.”
You raise a brow at him and he shrugs, raising his glass to say “well done.”
“I’m kidding, kind of,” you sigh and wrap both hands around your mug, clearing your throat before you bear your soul to Robb. “My parents died recently. Maya’s my little sister and I’m her soul guardian, so that’s why you haven’t heard of her.”
“Oh,” he furrows his brows as you shrug at him. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know.”
“It’s not your fault,” you shrug and do your best to focus on the movie, seeing as you’re on the verge of tears.
“I know what you’re going through, so feel free to talk to me whenever. I’ll try not to be so… distant and moody as you so eloquently put it,” he smiles softly at you, looking down at his hot chocolate as he begins to bear his soul. “My parents both died within a month of each other. My siblings were left in my care but they’re away for school now. One of them is in the FBI, the other is going to become an actress. My youngest sister is going to the Olympics next year. My little brother is in and out of the hospital, so I have a place for him around there.”
“Wow,” you whisper softly, sitting up attentively as he speaks about his family.
“Yeah, pretty fucked up, isn’t it?” He sniffles a bit, not really noticing his actions. “The good thing is, my siblings will all be home for dinner tomorrow. It’s just tough sometimes, you know?”
“Yeah, I know,” you whisper softly, getting up and walking over to Robb. A few tears have managed to escape him and he does his best to quickly wipe them off, shooting you a smile.
You wrap your arms around him and hold him close, placing your chin over the top of his head as he wraps his arms around you, tears soaking your sweater. You kiss the top of his head, running your fingers through his hair as he slowly calms down.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, sniffing as you shake your head.
“Nothing to be sorry about, love. It’s okay,” you gently press your lips against his forehead and he feels them--he feels the butterflies. You feel a whole jungle.
“Thank you,” he whispers, pulling away a bit to look at you.
“Of course, whatever you need,” you whisper and you know you’re both vulnerable, but this feels right. He feels right.
He kisses your forehead and pulls you close, this time he’s resting his chin atop your head. You snuggle into him and he sighs, trying to watch the movie and repress these damn wings in his stomach.
“Hey,” you whisper and he quickly turns his head to face you.
“Yes?”
“Look up.”
“Hm?” You smile as he looks up, mistletoe write over him.
“It’s holiday tradition. We must,” you smile and Robb smiles widely back at you, dimples prominent even through that gorgeous beard.
“If you insist,” he whispers, fingers gently gripping your chin and bringing you closer to him.
“I do insist,” you whisper breathlessly, desperate to feel gorgeous lips against yours.
He smiles, brushing his nose against yours and gently licking the top of your cupid’s bow. You open your mouth, gasping as his free hand pulls you in closer, not caring how desperate you look.
“Robb, please just--”
And as a man with a flair for the dramatic, he does. Oh, he does. His hands wrap around your waist and he pulls you into his lap, his red plump lips encapturing yours as you moan into his mouth. Your hands reach up and gently pull his hair, eliciting a happy groan.
“Sissy?” You hear a tired voice and gasp, jumping off Robb’s lap as Maya and Wind stood at the entrance of the living room. Thankfully, Maya was rubbing her eye and Wind was kissing her.
“Close call,” you whisper and get up, quickly tending to your sister and her furry friend.
“I have to get going,” Robb clears his throat and stands, taking a minute to adjust himself. “I have a whole day of festivities to prepare. Rudolph,” he smiles at Maya and she giggles back shyly. “Rudolph can stay. You can bring him with you to dinner tomorrow.”

“Have you heard word from my son?”
“No, my lady.” Catelyn Stark’s lips pressed together in a thin line, mother’s worry etched on her face at the uncertainty of her son’s safety.
“The ride to Vesiros is about a two week journey, my lady, I would not fret yet.” Roose Bolton spoke in an attempt to sooth her.
“If that… that wildling queen kill-” Catelyn began, spitting out the word queen in disgust. “The queen may be a savage, but I am sure she is not a compete fool, my lady. She already has to deal with invading wildlings, she would not want a Northern army marching on her too.”
“Let us pray that you are right Lord Bolton, and also pray that the girls savage instincts do not get the better of her.”
