Despite Type O Negative's rejection of the "Goth" label to describe their unique musical style, observant Goths are guaranteed to be listening to two songs today- Type O Negative's "Black No. 1" and Bauhaus' "Bela Lugosi's Dead".
Voltaire, author of the 2004 book What is Goth?, briefly describes his observations of the vintage New York Goth scene:
