This blog takes place on the original Earth-Five, where there are no superheroes, real or fiction. Batman and Robin are brought there by the Phantom Stranger so Batman can get over his survivor's guilt by saving the Waynes of world-Five. The thing is, Robin realizes that if Bruce-Five doesn't lose his parents, he probably won't become Batman, depriving this Earth’s one chance at having any sort of superhero.
In the end, Batman and Robin prevent the murders of the Waynes and in the epilogue of the comic, we see the Bruce Wayne of Earth-Five training to become Batman, inspired by the Batman that saved him and his parents
