Batman gliding/flying[Ranting lmao]
Watching Batman: Gotham Knight my favorite thing is the fact that during that one segement with the Vampire Hunter D art style looking but is that his cape turn into bat wings when he starts gliding. Now I’ve thought of two things:
Superman flying that man like a bat kite™️ because something that silly sounds like something that MAYBE Batman goes “fine.” To once and never again even though that was really fun, actually kind of worked out in the favor of scouting and allowing more glide distance and was kind of maybe giving a bit of “let me be the wind beneath your wings”(superbat reference? Maybe idk)
Batman freaking the fuck out of a majority of the JL with not only the smooth transition from float cape to sturdy wings but the fact he’s not only mastered the art of gliding like a bat BUT the fact with that smooth transition between flowing cape -> sturdy wings -> flowing cape allows him to literalt seem like the shadows that Gotham herself made sure he could manipulate(not literally but black cape, shadowy city makes a cool looking effect no?).
So the JL sees this:
I imagine no one’s really used to seeing the only guy considered NOT super-human suddenly fly like he’s been a bat his whole life and in turn would be freaked out. Especially the first time with the fact Batman doesn’t tell you “I’m gonna jump off this building now” he’s more likely to just tell you “I’m going to catch that [specific chase scenario].” or “I’ll meet you there.” Or something like that. The very first time I’m just picturing a bunch of quick time reactions like Superman and Wonder Woman already leaping for the edge, Hal also kinda freaked about to catch him, Barry just about to go do catch him at the bottom, etc etc but when they look off that edge it’s just:
“holy shit he can fly?? Could he always do that???”
I honestly don’t know the point of why I wrote this other than ranting. Along with thinking of silly stuff about Batman gliding because I’m 50/50 on whether he’s study some book called “The workings of Flight” and then buy a bunch of stuff about Bat wings, flight motions , and gliding. Which brings me to how possibly would everyone still react when he does it more. He’s basically a natural at it, everyone sees that. Which also brings in some cryptic batman(I love cryptid Batman) (or cryptid but not really he’s just lowkey autistic or awkward or smthn else)where you could just mix that in where the fact he’s basically a natural + the detailed bat like design + the shadowy and flowing cape = a pretty cool concept of where Gotham residents and the JL are constantly questioning “Is he really human?” Add whatever you please honestly to this silly silly rant about Batman embracing the bat in the coolest and most cryptic way possible.
