I want a job with a better work environment that offers health and retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement, and pays an additional $10,000.

a few weeks ago as I was walking home from work, I saw a cool looking friend group and prayed to be apart of their circle. today I learned that one of the people in that group is a new coworker of mine. and I recognized one of their friends as someone who use to volunteer at the same org as me. the possibility is there if I knew how to relax and socialize. I felt like a loser by the end of my shift.

first shift at my new job was actually pretty nice

my new job is fucking racist. I have yet to meet a single black or brown person who works there, and I live in a predominantly black city.

my trainer also told me that the owners (white) let local artists display their art. one of the owners’ friend displayed some minstrel ass caricature of a black woman. a black woman rightfully got angry and ripped the offensive drawing off the wall. some repairman working on a refrigerator interrupted our conversation to defend the racist. he even said that “art will always offend someone” and “the black person or whatever was littering”. I told him a white liberal shouldn’t be using jim crow minstrel art as inspo for drawing black people.

I don’t know how we ended up on it, but he also tried telling me that swatsakas were symbols of peace. and I told him not in western societies. I want to rip his face off.

anyway, that fuckass male wasn’t an employee of my new job. my new job still makes uncomfortable. I just need to diversify my resume and maybe I can pivot into coffee manufacturing by September.

my friend’s husband wants me to help him design some stupid fitness app. I attempted to do it despite not wanting to, and it obviously went to shit. he had nothing prepared to help get me started. no branding guide. no project scope. no marketing research. he didn’t even consider the basic functionality of the app. all he knew is he wanted a calendar??? when I attempted to get that foundation started, he started rushing me for a interactive prototype THREE DAYS after we had last spoken. I haven’t even finished the interaction map at that point. he then started development using fucking ai. I ghosted the project with zero word from him for months. he then messaged me the other day wanting to call me to get my advice on something. I ignored him because I don’t want to be an ux/ui designer for his stupid project. I’m giving up on that industry altogether.
