If you dont know about these match cases then they are handcrafted in the US, were issued to Airforce downed pilot rescue teams and are guaranteed waterproff to 2000 PSI .
The friction fit cap can still be removed even if frozen unlike screw thread caps and features room for a quality micro compass .
The main body can be used as a survival tube instead of a match case this version is aircraft grade anodized Aluminum but there are brass versions available .

Ive seen this product about a lot but its only recently that Ive managed to get hold of some to test out .
As part of a dedicated fire kit or go bag set up or for use as an expedition tinder the reviews Ive seen have been quite favorable so am interested to see how well it works especially once it gets wet .

A very useful little EDC wallet in the great Hypalon fabric and YKK zip, this was a custom made one from a guy in Singapore .
CF Go tube.
I recently got some thick walled solid CF tubing and decided to make a couple of CF Go tubes for my own use and to match my original CF Go tube from @snakedrblog/ @oscardelta which Ive had for many years and which is a great bit of kit .
The big one is slightly longer and will take x2 CR123 with a foam spacer and then made 2 single carry ones out of the off cut piece .

Bamboo is one of those great natural products that has hundreds of uses and is easy to source in many parts of the world .
I remember watching a guide (ex Thai forces ) whilst trekking in the jungles of Norther Thailand who used a piece of cut bamboo to boil rice in .
Once it was cooked he then split it with a large knife to make two platters before splitting 2 thin sections of it to make improvised chop sticks all in a matter of a minute.
Show here is a real simple way to make a watertight and floating container using an off cut piece of bamboo and a recycled wine cork .
The larger the bamboo the more gear you can stash in it but the harder it may be to plug the hole , this was just an improvised plug till I make a better bamboo cap to fit the cut end and could work well for Geocaching too .
I managed to bore a hole through into the bamboo just in front of the solid section allowing me to add a 550 para-cord lanyard and it also just happened to fit a stainless sewing spool with several meters of nano cord on .
