@thevanderbiltrepublic presents “AMERICA NOW SUITE”, ⠀ an exhibition of new works from Brooklyn-based #painter & #muralist @dalewilliamsart⠀ AMERICA NOW SUITE premieres Friday 12 Oct 2018 at #GowanusLoft⠀ The suite’s elements were designed to retrieve #AmericanHistory and provide,⠀ as Williams stated, “a re-mythologizing, a re-visioning of the American past, present, and future.” ⠀ The title pays homage to jazz drummer Max Roach’s 1960 recording ⠀ We Insist! – Freedom Now Suite. That work embodied the urgency of the burgeoning Civil Rights Movement. #civilrights #socialjustice #maxroach ⠀ The exhibition consists of three major paintings and two series:⠀ Awareness Day Portraits⠀ Edward Hicks’ Peaceable Kingdom⠀ The Spirit of Manifest Humility⠀ Democratic Vistas—wordscapes and ⠀ A Panoramic Fantasia of American History Centered on the Untimely Death of Robert F. The three spirits gave to the production a beautiful sense of innocence and sweetness; Sacha Bloch, Grace Mosley and Alexandra Miller won the hearts of all of us in the audience. .
