Snowfall
So a snow day was just announced for my city here in Newton, MA; it's the first one this year. Words can not begin to describe how elated I am, since now I can put off all my work another few days, and instead spend a blissful day outside in the precipitation. Nonetheless, I'll write a poem about it.
Snowfall
White and pure, blissful frigid elegance, blowing quietly,
Nothing in the world, has ever existed quite so perfectly.
With the power to freeze, the power to protect, the power to amaze,
Turning without direction, spinning like a top, staring painfully dazed.
Stroll through the pristine, white winter sounds; there's nothing to hear.
The flurries flash in front, everything is so far, and so near.
Will the mind be lost, out in the cold, about to cry,
Lost in the snow, while out in a blizzard, beautiful serenity and I.
