Sharon was wondering when he was going to get the giant bug out of his rear end and talk to her.  All the really cool guy ‘Neighbor’ stuff was cute and all, but she had been revving her engine for a long time.  It was time for someone to lower the flag.  

“Looks that way…” she answered, shooting what she hoped was a sweet smile in his direction. “How about you, neighbor?  What do you do for a living?” she teased, winking.

The smile he returned was nothing short of adorable.  She was going to like this guy.  And it didn’t even take a burning soulmark to tell her that.

Hi PS! Hope your say is going well! Honestly I love the “not bad” lines, its so tease-y and flirty and THEM, it feels like they’re getting back to where they were before the wedding day. And the hair caressing like was perfect, I could see it so clearly!! Also I am SO excited for the next few updates, especially seekng the chapter titles •I’m doing well, I’ve been out of the country for the past few months so my tumblring is on hold (other than checking your blog for charade updates, of course!)

Finished the update (excuse the exclamation points, they’re the only things I have to accurately express my feelings about this update) also, my favorite parts: 1. “He’s nice enough.” 2. “Is that why you call me ’Laad Governor’?” 3. And yet he’d stayed here, within easy reach, and she hoped it meant that he didn’t blame her for what had happened 4. He held out his hand, and she slid her trembling fingers across his palm when she was close enough.

(2/2): 5. “Like I said,” his eyes traced up and down her body as the corner of his mouth tilted in a smirk, “Not bad.” 6. Arnav-ji gave a sharp tug so that she landed on his chest with a gasp, her hair flying about her and sliding down his suit in a caress.

Eeee, look at that. All your fave bits are my fave bits. NGL, it took me a long time to find the words to describe the way her hair touched his suit jacket, because I wanted it to feel sensual without going overboard. And I was also hesitant about using the “not bad” line too much but then I felt like Arnav is so happy on this day that nothing’s gonna bring him down – he’s going to let her know that he likes her wearing his gifts.

Also, I got a few weird on messages on like Wattpad and stuff. I dno. So anyway, after all that, your message just brightened up my morning :D Thank you!

I am! It’s so fun just being me, for now. I think … in trying to create a safe and happy and positive space for the fandom I forgot that PS is firstly the place that I need to feel safe and happy and positive in. So … yeah … *awkward shrug*

His, of course, is Laad Governor, a name that transitioned from an insult to an endearment. She uses it when she’s mildly annoyed or teasing him about his Laad Governor-ish habits :)

He never gave her a nickname, but sometimes calls her ‘babe’ or ‘baby’ in private when the mood strikes him. It does not happen often but Khushi secretly likes it. Sometimes, when he’s in a very good mood, he refers to her as chashni when they’re in bed, ala Veritas. It’s a very private joke between them.

For Arnav, Aarav remains ‘Big Guy’ and Geeta is always ‘Blossom’ unless he’s angry. Khushi doesn’t have set nicknames for the kids but calls them whatever cutesy name comes to her in the moment – anything from laddoo and gudiya to sweetu and chutki. She once referred to Aarav as her Munna Raja. He did not like and filed an official complaint with Dad, who shrugged as the tried to contain his laughter.

Hello again! I just reread Rishtaa and I wanted to let you know that I really admire the way you've written Arshi's relationship! It just feels very.... soft? Like I'm reading it through the snapchat pretty filter lol. Which probably doesn't make that much sense, but I always felt like underneath the passion & drama their relationship was also really sweet, and the way you write them brings that through!! I honestly haven't read anything like it!

Honestly it makes a lot of sense to me because that’s what I was going for. My theory is that the antagonism of their first few meetings coloured a lot of their interactions for a long time. So with RISHTAA I wanted to take the characters and give them a much gentler beginning … just to see what happened.

They have a lot in common – intense dedication to family, personal trauma, an intense desire to love and be loved – and I think they would naturally gravitate towards one another without all the drama-llama in the serial. There are still the differences over money and religion and priorities, but that’s what makes it fun for me.

I’ve always thought they’d be stronger as a unit without the whole Shyam debacle, and I guess this is my way of working through the scenario to see if that’s true. People, and relationships, are deep and complicated enough without the added stress of “I was once engaged to your brother-in-law”.
