So my cat loves feathered toys but my dog ALSO really really loves feathered toys, to the point where I literally cannot use the feathers-on-a-string-on-a-stick toy when he’s in the house because he will either 1) go full fucking ham to try to get it or 2) SCREAM so now we’ve officially reached the ‘former baby of the household is now an older brother but he’s not handling it well’ stage 😂

You would not believe how many grouse we have this year. Heikki has been flushing them by the handful every time we walk our woods. Then there’s this fat fuck-oh who couldn’t care less that I was trying to drive here. I even honked and all it did was raise its crest. Finally had to just drive and it roadrunnered off to the the side.

This year has been fairly snowy, BUT it’s been brutally cold. Like, whole weeks where it didn’t get above zero at all, with wicked windchills too. So we have not kept up our float like in years past, which means we’re basically wading through waist-deep powder while poor Heikki bounds like a deer. It’s enough to finally push me into getting two pairs of snowshoes… this spring once they go on sale

I’m posting this with him snoring in my lap. If I’m home? He’s in my lap. He is going to be 80 lbs some day, and there will be no convincing him that he will be too big to fit.
