Gavriel only has a soft spot for Jack and Grace but is very cold and unfeeling around other people. I've read Kat's comics and what I interpreted is that Gavriel smiles [sometimes laughs] when Jack tells him a joke/does something funny :3
Jack very much dislikes Elizabeth [Gavriel's cat] mainly because of all the rude comments she says to him [or rather meowed at him] and is jealous of how much Gavriel spoils her [that only makes the comments worse lmaooo]
