Jennifer Lopez U Turn (1997)
U Turn (1997)
Omg Beatrice, that poor McKenna girl!! I think she’s a better actress by like a very thin margin.
Maybe?? All I know is that Kiernan Shipka was in Mad Men, an all-time drop-dead brilliant show, growing enormously as an actor over the course of the series. Also, she starred in CAoS, which was one of my favorite shows on Netflix while it ran. Finally, she had a small role in The Last Showgirl, which brought me to tears when I saw it last year. GM only wishes that her CV was as strong!
I can't post pics because my bed is a disaster area, but I just unboxed and lightly cleaned my new (used) Grace 2013 American Girl doll and she is BEAUTIFUL!! Got a little teary after I did an unboxing video for myself.
She seems a bit heavier than a standard Our Generation doll, so I think that shows the quality? Her face mold is sooo cute with the freckles! (I might not have considered getting her otherwise.)
My JLY doll has yet to be shipped, but I'm waiting on her because she was the more expensive of the two (but still a huge bargain!). I'll probably make a video about her tomorrow. Today is a good day, between this and the Beauty and The Beast 30th anniversary special on tonight! (Fun fact, the 30th anniversary was actually last year. I keep getting videos celebrating it all over my Youtube feed, so not sure why Disney is going crazy now over it? But I'll bite.) We don't have cable, just streaming, but hopefully, Sling will have ABC. I'm not hopeful though. I couldn't watch The Little Mermaid live a few years ago because ABC wasn't on any free streaming services at the time, not even via computer, but I'll look far and wide!
My mind is blown that there is a genuine American Girl doll sitting next to me on my desk right now. 0_o I never thought this day would come. And I keep wanting to call her Saige? I was an adult when Saige came out, so not sure why that name is stuck in my head, but it is pretty. I like Grace too a lot, simple but beautiful. Haven't come up with any names for my other girl yet, but I'll bond with her when she gets here and look through the baby name sites to figure it out then. Hope everyone is having a good day, and if not, tomorrow is a new start. Hang in there and be safe!!
My other new "baby", Grace!
Just fell in love with her freckles and her blue eyes. *ded* There was a better Grace on there, but she was more expensive.
Thankfully, there's plenty of clothes...or a good amount...to dress these ladies once they come in the mail. ^_^
Good gawds, I now technically own TWO American Girl dolls. They just have to arrive yet. Well, they're not going to end up under a pile of laundry like my Our Generation Penelope, I'll tell you that. (Love her too, but she's not worth $$$$!) We're gonna take pictures and be awesome and maybe I can finally make time for the 399,483,834 AG crafts I put on my Pintrest board.
Edit: Having some buyers remorse, but I've waited like 25 years for this. They're not new, I didn't overspend on them (but maybe on other stuff this month altogether?), and it's been a long time coming. Some women want expensive purses or clothes. I want expensive dolls. If I can buy them second hand in good condition, then it's all fine. It's fine. We're fine. <_<
