I honestly really love the inclusion of rOT as a gamemode. It’s just so fantastic in its symbolism and the way it’s designed (not to mention fun in the most horrifying way Grace has been so far)
Cause like, Grace is empowering. It can be stressful and chaotic but it’s always encouraging you to move a mile a minute and you feel so good when you get it right. It’s the same thing with Reprieve, Mayhem, Zen, Woed. (the only exception in part is spoiled zen but i’ll talk about that later).
Each break fills you with relief and each run through fills you with so much adrenaline.
And then you enter rOT. Which isn’t something you can do from the Lobby selection or obviously. You have to find it. And everything about it is designed to wear you down.
It’s completely monochrome. There are no walls to catch you.
You can’t flash entities, you have to hold down with the hand.
It’s shoving its drivel down your throat the whole time, center screen.
There are no safe rooms or interludes. No breaks. No rest.
Not even during choices. Better pick fast cause it’s still behind you.
And you are so, so slow.
Slow. In Grace. The game all about going as fast as possible room after room. Sliding helps but again there’s no walls. Nothing to keep you from falling down. It’s nice symbolism. After all, without Him to keep you in place you will hurt yourself. And He’ll weep for every wound.
But you can always, always get back to Him. The game doesn’t let you forget that.
But for now, here you tread.
rOt Artful ref!
I tried to make him look as messed up and ripped up as possible, since I basically see this as the sinner falling to the lowest possible point. Even God can barely hold his connection with them, which is why his necklace is cracked. But don’t worry once he manages to make it back to the light it’s automatically fixed.
just played rot grace on mobile, how am i supposed to outrun disgrace😭
Will be drawing Artful in rOt a bit later!
see this is why I’m glad I’m one of those people who don’t care I get to enjoy a cool little creepy update
I'm scared wthelly
