Gradus Launches SqMile Exec Carpet Tile Range

Contract interiors specialist Gradus has designed a new range of contemporary carpet tiles, which reflect current design and colour trends within both the commercial office and education markets.

The SqMile Exec range features an attractive stripe design and a choice of complementary plain colours that coordinate and can be used together to create interesting and unique floor schemes.

The designs within the range can be used together to emphasise and to differentiate particular zones within a building, such as breakout areas, seating areas, boardrooms and walkways.

Karen Burman, Designer and Product Manager for Gradus Carpets, comments: “The SqMile Exec range offers versatility and can be used to enhance an interior by customising the floor to create a bespoke design scheme.  The range is ideal for use within commercial office environments or education establishments, such as colleges and universities.”

The SqMile Exec carpet tile range is produced with 100% Aquafil ECONYL® solution dyed nylon yarn which is made from 100% regenerated nylon.

The range is produced in cut pile construction and comes with a 10-year wear warranty.

SqMile Exec includes a choice of both grey and beige colour options.

The SqMile Exec stripe design is available in two colours; Central Line and District Line and the plain design is available in four colours;  Euston, Westminster, Farringdon and Bank.

The stripe design can be installed either brick bond or quarter turn which offers versatility and the opportunity to create unique design schemes.

Superior Finish Contracts and Uzin accomplish a quality flooring finish.

UZIN products were used to install a variety of floor coverings at a new Cross Keys Homes premises in Peterborough.

The shop and information hub will assist people looking to learn more about the care and support services CKH provide to Peterborough residents as well as upcoming training opportunities, and self-service options for existing residents.

The client required a mixture of flooring to be installed, all of which needed to be flat, level and flush at any intersections.

For such an exact and precise project the flooring contractor Superior Finish Contracts Ltd decided to use UZIN products providing them with the confidence to accomplish a quality finish.

Superior Finish Contracts Ltd were tasked to fit Modulyss carpet tiles to the office areas, Gradus Boulevard 5000 secondary matting to the entrance, Polyflor Arena safety vinyl to the kitchen and Polyflor Expona luxury vinyl tiles to the main areas.

The very thin vinyl tile needed to be flush with the thicker carpet tile so as to avoid any potential trip hazards at doorways.

As well as installing suitable trims at doorways, UZIN NC 163 smoothing compound was used to under the LVTs achieve this neat, flush finish.

UZIN KE 2000 S pressure sensitive adhesive was used to install the luxury vinyl tiles and safety flooring.

Whereas UZIN U 2100 tackifier was used to lay the carpet tiles and UZIN KE 2428 adhesive used to install the entrance matting.

The resulting floor looks fantastic, all the more impressive given that it was completed in a very limited access area on a short time scale.

Spread over 63,000sq. ft., the unique development offers brand-new, high quality facilities, set within a building steeped with heritage that retains many of its original architectural features.

Gradus specified a variety of flooring accessories and floor-coverings to enhance the interior and provide safe access for all.

Times Square carpet tiles were specified for use in the corridor and atrium areas.

The bold design of Times Square complements the modern contemporary interior, whilst its excellent acoustic properties make it the perfect choice to create a welcoming environment for all building users.

Gradus Times Square carpet tiles offer versatility and creativity, whilst being hardwearing and durable enough to cope with large volumes of foot and wheeled traffic.

Times Square is designed to be installed randomly on the floor reducing installation time and wastage and allowing easy replacement of individual tiles as no pattern matching is required.

As the facility will experience a large amount of foot traffic, Esplanade 5000HD Primary Barrier Matting was installed in three main entrances and one rear entrance in colourway Jackdaw (black).

This high-performance barrier matting improves safety by reducing the risk of slip accidents caused by wet flooring.

It also helps to reduce cleaning and maintenance costs, whilst protecting the appearance and prolonging the lifecycle of adjacent floor coverings.

John Scotting, Managing Director of main developer Scott’s Developments Ltd, commented: “The restoration of Steel City House has created a thriving business hub in the heart of Sheffield. Gradus were able to provide a choice of colour and design options that allowed us to achieve a modern flooring scheme, whilst still complementing the heritage of this period building.

To define the step edge and ensure safe access for all building users, ADXT3 stair edgings were specified on all staircases.

ADXT3 is part of the Gradus market-leading XT range and comprises an aluminium channel with a slip resistant insert that extends around the leading edge of the profile to ensure that foot contact is always made with the slip-resistant element of the stair edging for improved user safety.
