Grain Crazy Kettle Corn is a delightful take on traditional popcorn that strikes the ideal ratio between sweetness and saltiness for a filling snack.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup popcorn kernels. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add popcorn kernels and sugar to the pot, stirring to coat evenly. Cover the pot with a lid, leaving a small gap for steam to escape. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning, and listen for the popcorn to slow down popping. Once the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops, remove from heat. Carefully uncover the pot, sprinkle salt over the popcorn, and toss to distribute. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
