Gramigna - Temporary Score:
Description: short, curled lengths of pasta; "weed"; if macaroni married bucatini and had baby pastas
First Take Points: 5 - oh, this one is a winner, folks! as evidenced by the photo on the left, taken directly after plating, as evidenced by the steam, you will see that i made dan dan noodles with gramigna! i know there are some long-noodle truthers out there, and i won't malign them; i'll just say that for me personally, using a short noodle in dan dan SLAPPED. also, because of the way the gramigna are curled, it very much felt like i was eating ramen style noodles that had been chopped up. the gramigna are the PERFECT size for something like dan dan where you have chunks of other yum (pork and broccolini) that you want to be able to get a nice heaping spoonful of, and for standing up to a hearty sauce.
Remix Bonus Points: 3 - seriously, this noodle gives "short ramen king" vibes, which is the vibe i didn't even know i was looking for (altho probably should have been able to guess given that i always crunch up my instant ramen noodles before i make them). i'm starting to think i should try to make ramen...
Amusement Points: 2 - these are pretty cute little noods, they're like little pasta caterpillars (the smooth ones, not the hairy bois)! i wonder if i cocooned one inside a pasta shell if it would come out as a... i need help thinking of puns for pasta butterflies...
Annoyance Deductions: -2 - the name is not as cute as the pasta. also, these were really hard to source, which is annoying to me since i ended up really liking them! also, the bag was kinda small, so i used it all in one go and have no more gramigna. 😥
Alternative Uses: umm....... sorry fam, i got nothing. audience?
