The great oppression rant

First of all I am not a known bloggist so I am sure this will pretty much go nowhere, however I just want to get this out because I feel it needs to be heard.

OPPRESSION IS EVERYWHERE

If you don't think so then look away now and lead on your ignorant lives. I am not saying you are stupid, we are all ignorant one way or another, I am just saying that the words "ignorance is bliss" ring true especially here. I am a 25 year old female who used to be a nurse and now is studying computer networking. I game in my own time and have a love of well constructed stories of all forms. 

When I say this you have an image of me in your head, look at the image closely. What brings these concepts to your mind, a gamer, a female gamer, a female nurse gamer that gave up her career to do computing? 

Some of your concepts may be true, but the way our go about thinking them maybe wrong. All these key words give an image in our minds whether we like it or not. That image is projected through society, through who we interact with, our friends, our family, our teachers and our children. 

Oppression is an offset of judgement. We are forever judged with our actions and who we are; whether that be Gay, Straight, Trans, cis, female, male, gamer, sportsman and so on. We have a preconceived view on pretty much everything and how we deal with it should be the only thing we are judged on, not us as an individual.

Babies are encouraged to act a certain way in some cultures. They are given gendered items, told that they are cute and cheeky. Some may through girly items at girls and manly items at boys. At this age they are none the wiser, they have no say on things, but they may prefer the blue item to the pink item, the parent or friend takes it away and tells them it is not for them. This is oppression.

Oppression happens to those of any age, any race, any gender and any opinion. We as a race do not like to be proved wrong by our conceptions, and so toxicity starts to appear. My father who is perfectly good at his job is told, "Arn't you too old for this?" He is told, "Why can't you be more like us?" This impacts his job, because he is outside their perfect model of what they expect him to be. Yet he does his job well, despite breaking the mold. He is sill under scruitan because change is not often liked. He is outside their comfort zone, which makes them feel personally attack, because they have been proved wrong. 

Is it okay to live like this?

Why?

I believe people should be free to choose whatever they want to do, believe in whom (or who) they please, wear whatever they want, behave how they want to behave, as long as it does not infringe on anyone personally. Not their beliefs not their rights, personally. I Say this because a lot of religions, organisations and people put a lot of preconceived ideas into our heads. That's fine if you believe in them it is your choice, when it becomes wrong is when that idea said allowed infringes on another person, forcing them to abandon the choices that they want to make. You don't like a particular idea, that's okay as long as you understand that just because you and others share that dislike that infringes on others, that it is not okay to act on it. I dislike loom bads, does not mean that I will stop a friend from making them, because that in itself is oppression.

Now the crux of this post:

You can be a feminist, a pro-choicer, a gamer, a nerd, coloured, transexual, cissexual or even an alien who strongly believes in something. It never ever ever is right to use oppression against the opposing forces.

"OMG that person believes that adam and eve were the beginning. We cannot speak to them. Their stupidity may be infectious."

"That alien's culture is so brutal. ugh can't believe they let them in here."

guess what ALL THESE SAYINGS ARE OPPRESSION.

Hate is hate.

Stupidity is stupidity.

Never force someone to have a particular idea, educate yes, but never force.

Most importantly: Never be afraid to be you, as long as that you are not a douchnozzle.
