The Grand Trunk Western in Lansing
Here we see an eastbound train, a local perhaps, on the former Grand Trunk Western Railroad, in Lansing, Michigan.
In the first two images we see the train has passed the three tall stacks of the Lansing Board of Water & Light Otto E. Eckert Station. This is a coal-fired plant on the Grand River, and is scheduled to go off-line in 2020. The stacks are an incredible 615 feet high.
In the final three images we see the train rolling under the ancient coaling tower of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. The structure was built in the 1920s and was designed to span over four tracks, though only two are there today.
