☼: Which tropes do you find overused/boring? AND ♀: What is an AU, you really want to play with your muse?

Tropes that I find overused: I answered this one before, I think, but I’ll answer it again. 

I hate the whole ‘my character is clearly deep because they’ve suffered’ trope. it’s annoying, tired, and doesn’t really ever accomplish what it set out to. It’s mostly just exhausting. 

I also hate the whole ‘soulmate au’ thing. I despise the whole concept of soulmates on principle.

AU: I don’t really have any. I’m not a huge fan of AUs, but I’ll play them if they come along and I really like them. So, basically, I am already involved in all of the AUs that I liked, but I don’t come up with them myself.

“I don’t think you’re sorry at all.” There was little question: Seamus was sulking. Really, it had been a perfectly good and acceptable idea to see if slight variations to *confrigo* would allow for more specified aiming and damage control. It was a perfectly approved study, even had a special room sorted to lessen the damage to *other experiments*.

How he had managed to create a rebound effect was a mystery even to himself. But he was certain, “I think you’re enjoying this, I do.”

He ran a hand through is own hair and wrenkled his nose, “You better not have already called Dean. The front office would have a *field day*.”

Not that Dean wouldn’t have one of his own.

1. Dean has no idea what to make of Hermione sometimes. She is so well-meaning, but sometimes he thinks that that makes her more annoying than some of the people who are not well-meaning. At least she’s trying, though, so he gives her credit. 

2. Dean absolutely hates Hermione’s cat. And it’s mutual. The damn thing actually hisses at him all of the time. Still, he doesn’t say anything about it because he’s seen how she reacts when Ron talks shit about the cat and everyone in the world knows that she’s actually in love with Ron. So, Dean reckons that if Ron can’t get away with it, then he definitely can’t. 

3. His opinion of Hermione is elevated after the war when he sees how hard she works on the werewolf initiative. He thinks it’s so impressive that she’s taken the well-intentioned, but horrific, fight for elf rights and transferred them to something that he really thinks is worthwhile. 

4. She always remembers all of his family members’ names and asks him about them, individually, when they talk. He’s always been impressed by that, and it’s one of the reasons that he considers her a good friend even when he thinks she’s insane and shakes his head at the absurdity of her.

1. Ron loves the rare occasion that he wakes up before Hermione. Not only does he thrill at the idea of getting to watch her sleep, but he considers it a personal accomplishment, of sorts. 

2. For some reason, their being married and together for good doesn’t really sink in until she decides that it’s time for children. That is when it starts to get real for Ron and he doesn’t stop smiling for like a week straight. 

3. Sometimes, when she’s presenting something that she’s worked really hard on, he’ll come and watch. He doesn’t even know if she always knows when he’s there, because he’s worried that she’ll get nervous or something. Still, he likes to think that she knows. 

4. Even with everything that’s happened, and with everything they’ve been through together, he still hasn’t really forgiven himself for walking out on her in the woods when he was a frightened teenager under the thrall of a cursed piece of jewelry. 

and Bonus Headcanon: Hermione always defends Ron when his family attacks his intelligence. She’ll stand by and let him fight his own battles on all other fronts, but no one talks shit about Ron’s intellect where Hermione can hear them and walks away unscathed. She probably doesn’t realize it, but that’s the whole reason that he believes that he is smart.
