As we reflect back on 2018, we realize that there was diversity in our work (not unusual for us) and that we hadn't taken the time to share some great news during the year. Apparently Bronze was our color! Watch the short video below to get up to speed on that.
Awards: Telly Winner!
Mid-year, we were thrilled to be chosen for two Bronze Telly Awards! The Tellys, which celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2018, are a top industry voice and champion for the work of video, television, and all screen content creators.
A 14-video campaign called People of Forestry we created and distributed in late 2017 for the Southern Group of State Foresters (SGSF) received Tellys in the Branded Content and Motivational Video categories. Take a look at the two, one-minute videos we entered below, and see if you can tell which category they were honored in!
We were thrilled to win a regional bid for SGSF, after which we spent two months traveling nine states of the southeast to interview committed and diverse forestry professionals and to shoot beautiful vistas across our region. It was an eye-opening and wonderful experience.
Social Media: PRSA Bronze Award Winner
In case you missed it earlier this year, we announced on social media that the People of Forestry video series was awarded a PRSA Bronze Anvil Award for our distribution work of the series on social media. Bronze Anvils are PRSA's salute to the tactics that support PR and marketing initiatives, including press releases, videos and social media campaigns. Engagement 'R Us!
Video Projects
From interviewing Sister Louisa (aka Grant Henry) of CHURCH bar fame to tailing our favorite C-suite guy around Atlanta and Tallahassee to realizing 17k views for a physician practice teaser video we made and optimized for our client, our video projects in 2018 were rewarding. And we doubt we’re more legit now that You Tube accepted us into their Partner Program, but some new gear we got at the beginning of 2019 definitely makes us feel that way! Please consider us for all your audio and video needs.
It was an honor to help Florida State University's College of Business celebrate one of our favorite clients of the past eight years on video. Dan Hendrix, Chairman of the Board of Interface was named one of three Hall of Famers at an awards banquet in September; the fun shoots with him included Karin spending her birthday at the season opener at the FSU Season Opener at Doak Campbell Stadium in Dan’s box. Whisky was involved!
We had a great time with Grant Henry/aka Sister Louisa of CHURCH bar fame during a collaborative shoot with Arthur Thompson to make this video about one of Atlanta's most colorful people. The AJC included a link to it in this December story about Henry's new retreat center in Griffin, GA.
We produced more public awareness and social media videos for Emory DeKalb Physicians Group. Distribution is part of our package, and one of our teaser videos exceeded more than 17,000 views on YouTube.

PR & Event Programming
Our American Craft Show media relations and show program team helped bump attendance up by almost 25% over the previous year’s. And we garnered more media placements than ever before - it’ll be hard to top that in 2019!
PR/Crisis Communication
Our summer went from 0 to 60 after one of our previous crisis communications clients referred us to a large healthcare practice which suffered an external IT incident. This project kept us hopping through year-end, with the great support of our 2016 intern Andrew Dunbar, who we’re glad came back to work with us in July.
Small Bites
We had fun with some fashion photography for repeat client Anne Vincent Wearables and for KMM Collective, a new women's apparel site offering hand-crafted clothing and accessories from women vendors around the world. Our projects also included product and portrait photography, brand strategy, social media support and assistance at several winter pop ups in Atlanta.
Team News
We miss Solyee Kim, who got married twice in 2018 (once in Atlanta and once in Seoul, Korea) and is working on her PhD in Virtual Reality Content at UGA! New to the American Craft Show team for the 2019 show are Madelyn James Turner and Rachel Peavy; Leigh Coulter Beal continues on the account for the third year. By his own admission, Grant Henry had to dumb down the decor of his provocative new dive bar on Edgewood Avenue. From the street, Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping-Pong Emporium (Church, for short) looks enough like the real thing that people regularly walk in expecting to find a storefront religious sanctum.
