I was putting coins into one of those paid parking machines earlier today and realized the machine had made the printing noise after the ticket came out and that gave me an idea: what if in an Ancient Greece modern AU the Oracle of Delphos is hidden in those machines?

I mean, if you think about it it’s the best place to hide in plain sight: it watches everyone at all times and no one pays any attention to it, and its job is to give people tickets for money so it has that as a form of communication and as a way for worshippers to give offerings. It can print out the ticket with a message on the back and no one but the person who paid for it ever has to know. And the best part is that you have no way of knowing who visited the Oracle because everyone uses those machines so everyone “speaks” to the Oracle but you have to see the back of the ticket to know if the Oracle spoke back.

It’s the perfect system. So that’s my theory: the Oracle is in the parking ticket machines. You’re welcome.

what if indian ferre and indian marius and marius is good w languages and ferre who grew up speaking hindi w his parents / extended family / grandparents before moving to france and ferre eagerly giving marius lessons in hindi and having casual conversations w him to help him get better at it i cant stop thinking about this

all i can think about right now is north indian marius being really polite in hindi because ferre hasn’t taught him slang or hasn’t told him that he does NOT have to pronounce each syllable in every word, “it’s hindi! it’s laid back!” people would have considered the way marius spoke hindi patronising or maybe even a little condescending, as his accent was like a native’s and yet his words slow, even, and always ending with a smile.

marius loves learning hindi from ferre, he’d often practise by having a debate with him. when marius would get flustered/annoyed, he’d emphasise a few words incorrectly and ferre would have to think dark thoughts to stop himself from laughing.
