Greetings from my office floor... I'm having a coffee and taco picnic. My 9ams are on vacation, so I have a slow start to an otherwise busy day and I'm not sad about that! I do miss those clients, though! 🥰
I have been dragging lately. 🫠 One of my favorite humans has been in the hospital, and he just got out and is wrestling with deciding if he's going to commit to sobriety, and I'm trying very hard to not insert myself into that decision despite how very much I want to. It's a huge thing that he has said that he knows that I will love him and be there no matter what he decides, and that's true, and it means so much to me that he knows and believes that and is being honest with me about how things are going. On the other hand, the less mature side of me very much wants to be a manipulative asshole and influence that decision...I know I'd only be either 1. making him lie to me or 2. forcing him into something without his complete buy-in and that's not how real change happens...blah, blah...but I do not love seeing someone I care about so much be so unable to see their own worth that they continue to do things that could very well kill them sooner rather than later. Loving people is tough, man!
I am feeling so grateful that I'm really settling into my practice. I've now had many of my people for a few months now, and I am getting to know them so well and love them so much, and that makes such a difference. Despite how painful it can be to truly love people because you feel all the things they carry so deeply as well, there's just so much joy and connection in it.
