A term for when rot, necrosis, or viscera is embedded (weaved) into your identity! Self-indulgent since I couldn’t find a term for this

For the flag I took inspiration from photos of necrotic tissue and how browns are often associated with rot in some way! The red is the viscera bit

I cut my toe and didn’t feel it last week. Just thought about it after seeing the bandaid now. I only saw the blood, but felt no pain. I remember thinking “I’m dead anyways.” Think my brain went “dead people don’t feel pain, so this sensation isn’t real” or something. Cotard’s is strange. I think it’s interesting that it affects my perception of pain.

oh the urge to tear apart my skin just to see if there’s rot as I’m sure there is. not in a self-harm way, but in a “surely it’s there, I’ve gotta confirm” way. I won’t do it though. I’d probably get chucked into a psych ward or something lmao

just thought about this. trusted moots (idk dm us& to see if you’re in that category of moots), if I ever say I’m not alive or something on here, I want you to question my belief in dms. only after checking in to gauge how distressed I am though.

since some people think reality checking is dismissing it, I’ll explain what it actually is. reality checking is a skill some people learn to distinguish their internal beliefs from reality. others can reality check someone as well, but only if the person on the receiving end asks (like I am).

if you’re unsure how to do this for someone, just tell me to do my emergency plan. I have a plan thing set up that I do whenever I my Cotards is being a little bitch. it helps ground me in reality.
