both of her parents having been actors, the two even meeting on set of one of their biggest blockbusters either had ever participated in, it was a surprise when melody seo didn't really have any desire to follow in their footsteps. her easy reason why (see also: white lie) is simply because she prefers to keep a more private life. but the harder reason, and one that was more accurate technically, was because despite the headlines showing nothing but a beautiful and long lasting, loving relationship - she knew inside her home was nothing but jealousy, infidelity, and a battle of which parent could make the other more miserable in the other's affairs.

it was like the parents she saw on the screen never truly came off to participate in their own home, which was something that the young girl yearned for when she was young. the older she became however, along with the closer she'd grown with her nanny in the meantime, the more she distanced herself from her parents and the limelight that seemed to burn her when she was dragged under.

it was when she was thirteen and on vacation with her family that she finally did find the calling that her mom was so worried she never would. the aforementioned nanny had told her about ice skating on the pond in her backyard growing up, and since the resort they were staying in had an ice rink melody knew it was something she'd want to try. like lightning striking at the perfect time, melody felt that it was something she had to incorporate more of in her life; and the fact that she had the best teacher made it all the more appealing to her.

while her parents weren't thrilled that their daughter didn't want to follow their footsteps, they supported her decision when she wanted to go into competitive figure skating. the girl has now won a couple olympic medals and is on her way to acquiring her third.

blu's relationship with minhee could be considered difficult due the long distance aspect of it, but to the man it made it all the more revitalizing once they were lucky enough to be in one another's presence. today in particular had been three months too long since he'd last held his girlfriend in his arms, and so it was more or less difficult for the two to keep their hands and lips off of one another by the time they'd made it back to his hotel room.

of course he reasoned this being that their time apart led to a longer and stronger yearning, but it was eventually after both of them had missed a handful of phone calls and texts that the guilt of responsibility began to pull at the back of his head. "baby, let me just answer this facetime with them really fast to see what's going on. my teammates don't hammer call and i just want to be certain nothing's wrong." he went to grab his phone before the other stopped him, his hand hovering just above the device in a mix of curiosity and worry. 'come here,' the woman laughed slightly, rubbing her thumbs on either cheek in effort to clear them up. "what? am i not allowed to show off my new look?" he teased before taking a glance for himself in the mirror. "oh!" was his simple response before chuckling along with the other. "maybe that's a good idea, actually."

with the two of them having somewhat unpredictable schedules, it could be difficult for blu to see his long distance girlfriend; this was especially so when they were both in season. fortunately for him though, their next game was delayed and he had a layover in the exact town that minhee's next competition was in. he figured he'd find a different flight, knowing the thought of seeing his girlfriend's surprised face would be worth any extra hustle he'd have to take. this is how he ended up knocking on her door, a bouquet of wildflowers hiding behind his back before opening the door warily. "housekeeping," the man called in a fake raised tone before sticking his head inside to see the familiar face he'd missed so dearly.
