A lot of people seemed to ignore her or just give her slightly annoyed looks as they passed her and he couldn't help but feel just a little bad for her. She was just trying to do her job after all!

So, he decided he'd cross the street and take one of the fliers offering her a little smile. "I needed to find a decent coffee place anyway." He was more of a tea sort of guy but he could appreciate a good coffee from time to time.

“Can you believe the nerve of some people?” 

It was a surprisingly calm question given the circumstances, as a translucent pink bubble formed around the gun of a would-be hostage taker, much to their chagrin as they tried to fire and merely ended up having a ricocheting bullet inside.

Look at her, walking into a city and having to stop some scary crime! That’s what she got for wanting to grab some food in the dead of the night.
