Mara’s letter to Outlander!Quinn was also requested by @captainderyn, and the response is here. The prompt for this was, “Write a scene where the OC is first learning their most prominent skill.” I went sort of literal here and chose a specific lightsaber move from the game.
Maranel shrieked as a burst of Force lightning struck her inthe chest and spidered across her skin. It was rage more than pain; ReynaThrask had trained many an apprentice before working with her thirteen-year-oldniece. The pain was enough to teach, but too little to injure.
“Again.”
Her voice cracked like a whip and the girl picked herself upout of the dirt, glaring amber daggers at Reyna all the while. She didn’t brushherself off, not that it would have mattered; she’d skidded across the groundenough in the last hour to ruin her acolyte’s uniform. Reyna rubbed her templesfor a moment. The girl was strong in the Force and talented with a blade, buther evasion skills were sorely lacking.
“You were close that time, child, and your form hasimproved greatly, but it is not enough.”
“This is stupid,” she whined. “I won’t everuse this kriffing drill.”
“This drill you think is so stupid could save yourlife.”
Maranel rolled her amber eyes. “I dodged six of theseven blasts; I could easily have made it to you if not for your rules.”
Reyna raised a brow stalk.
“Do you think I’ve hit you with anything approaching myfull strength, Maranel?”
“Then show me.”
“I’m not going to attack a 13-year-old child. Now, the drill.”
Maranel raised her chin imperiously, and for a moment Reynafound herself looking into the eyes of her older sister Ragna, such was thegirl’s bearing. Stars, but her etiquette instructors had taught her well.
“I order you, Auntie, let us spar. Show me why all thisleaping about is so necessary.”

☏ Bryn?
☏ What letter would the OC write their LI if the LI was the one who became the Outlander after Marr’s ship is destroyed?
SNORT
man Bryn’s ‘relationship’ with Quinn is somany levels of fucked up i don’t know where to start. let’s just spitball thathe’s got thick enough plot armour that she can’t actually murder him and go with it
also three letters because Bryn is just that Extra
the first two are recieved at the same time the letter normally is, when the PC reaches the gravestone. the third is recieved after Arcann starts pasting Outlander!Quinn’s face all over the holonet.
Quinn.
You snivelling, backstabbing worm. It’s onething for you to deny me my rightful place at Darth Marr’s side; it’s anotherto deny me so much as the chance to destroy Vitiate once and for all. You sworeyourself to my service until death, not once, but twice, and yet still you trymy tolerance for your pathetic attempts at treachery. It is testament to thefiction you wove of your dedication to the Empire that none but I havequestioned if you did not intend this all along - if you, my treacherous leech, did not see yourself not as a humble servant but the would-be architect of ourhumiliation.
You should pray, Malavai Quinn, that therumours I hear are not true; that you did not survive Zakuul’s capture, thatyou are not the one responsible forValkorian’s death, that you do not skulk in the lowest reaches of the Spire, that you are not the Empire’s so-called unsung hero. You, who should never haveamounted to anything, who I should have left to rot in Sobrik. That you woulddare to leave the service not just of the Empire, but of me - to allowDarth Marr to die at the hands of our pretenders, while you slink into theshadows unscathed - these things are unforgiveable.
If you yet live, you insignificant snit, while Darth Marr was paraded as a trophy by our enemies, then you will wishwith every fibre of your being that you did not. Whatever suffering you thinkyou have endured in times past, I will visit on you tenfold. Zakuul will burnby my hand and my blade, Quinn, and if you are there - if I find you, if whateverpasses for your mewling courage empowers you to stand as tall as your weak andwilting spine allows - there is nothing in this galaxy, not even Vitiatehimself, that can protect you from the Empire’s Wrath.

Quinn.
It has come to my attention, you piece ofunwarranted filth, that you are not the champion the so-called oppressedchildren of Zakuul claim you are. This comes as no surprise; you could nevernurse the drive to champion yourself, never mind these spoilt bratlings.
I am reliably informed that you are astatue, a work of art made to decorate the presumptive child-Emperor’s walls. This is the only fitting fate; your prettiness always was your best attribute, even if it did little to mask your disloyal cowardice. Still, the notion thatyou have not yet escaped justice, be it mine or Zakuul’s, pleases me. It givesme something to look forward to enacting for myself.
I am telling you this for one reason, youimpudent snake. I hear whispers of a conspiracy to free you from you frozenframe, and prop you up as the Imperial hero that you never truly were. Suchconspiracies no doubt have existed since the moment you were captured, and willcontinue unabated until you are free to further poison the air with yourdrivel, so crushing them before they bloom into something ugly is an exercisein round futility. But do not hope for a second, Quinn, that I allow theseefforts because I wish to see you restored. You made an oath to serve me, yougutless wretch, and instead you served only yourself. This cannot be allowed tostand.

You are mine, until the stars themselvesare dust. You forget this at your peril.

Word drabble: Spiral Shadows? :o
[For my SW/Outlander Xhareen & Malavai Quinn. In my Knights Of The …AU, Quinn came back after KOTFE Ch. 16, although it was a while before they got back to Odessen. But I think this works with that or with canon.]
They’d barely gotten any sleep, but Xhareen insisted. So Quinn rose up from this strange bed in this strange underground complex on this strange planet, got himself cleaned and dressed and followed her through the maze of tunnels.
He remembered the large, open hangar the Alliance used as a military command post from his whirlwind tour yesterday. But he had no idea why Xhareen wanted him here, with her, before the sun had even risen.
She walked through the hangar, greeting and being greeted by every one of the overnight crew. She knew all their names. None of them seemed remotely surprised she was here at this odd hour.
They greeted Quinn, too. “Nice to meet you, Major, sir.” Or “Glad you could finally join us, sir!” Quinn hadn’t the heart to tell them he wouldn’t be joining the military command here. He’d promised Xhareen he’d do the drills required of all active fighters and pilots, but he wasn’t about to upset her chain of command. He had another job in mind, anyway. He hadn’t even mentioned it yet to Xhareen.
When they got to the ledge at the edge of the hangar, Xhareen climbed up a well-worn path and stood dangerously close to the drop-off point. “Come on up,” she urged. So he followed.
The Odessen sun was just starting to tease the horizon with a riot of colors. The leaves were stirring in the breeze. The quiet in the hangar behind them seemed to invite the sounds in, letting them roll around and amplify, like a murmur in a crowd.
“I’ve had a ritual, twice a day, these past months,” she began. “We were a bit busy last night, so I skipped it. But I wanted you to know. I come here at dawn and dusk every day I can. In the mornings, I look up into the sky first.” And she pointed up above them.
The night sky had not yet yielded its spectacular view of the stars, so unfamiliar to him, he felt dizzy. He would have to study whatever they had on astrogation so he could learn the celestial bodies and not feel so lost in his new home.
“And when I look up at the stars, I always think that you are somewhere, looking at them, too. It makes me feel better. A little less alone.”
He grasped her hand and pulled her close to him. They hugged for a few, wordless moments.
“But there’s more,” she said, pulling away only slightly. “In the morning, and only in the morning, there’s always a breeze that creeps along the canyon below. And as the sun rises, it creates these spiral shadows for just a few, magical moments.”
The base, he knew, was near the planetary equator, so dawn and dusk passed by quickly. And sure enough, she pointed to a spot in the canyon that was just being touched by the morning light.
The shadows danced and swirled, accompanied by the music of the rustling leaves. It built to a crescendo, and the shadow dancers fluttered to a nearly orgasmic release. Then the dance stopped, and the breeze died down, and all was calm.
“Normally,” Xhareen whispered once the show was done, “I would, just as the sound died out, say your name and pray the Force would carry it to you, wherever you were. I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore.”
Quinn could have argued that he had been without her longer than she had been without him. But even the little she had said about her carbonite prison made such an argument silly, if not downright cruel.
He leaned over and kissed her cheek. “I will never leave your side again, my love,” he swore.
She brushed her hand against his cheek. “I won’t let you.”
