Another random drabble idea because I was thinking about Hiccup's adorable little dragon plush toy he had as a kid 😂
Somewhere in the RTTE era (because Stoick must live, lol) Hiccup comes across his beloved old plush toy – the first dragon that he ever loved – and reminisces about some memories :) (Idk, could be cute lol. Maybe Stoick or Astrid teases him about it haha) – 👻
Memories

Having left the Edge, it felt almost surreal to be returning back to Berk for good.
Hiccup was going to miss a lot of things about living on Dragons Edge. The freedom, mostly. But, his dad was right, and it was time to return home.
Now in his childhood bedroom, he began to unpack. The sun shone in through the window, causing a certain item to catch his eye. Sitting on the headboard of his bed was a small, plush dragon. Picking up the toy, it reminded him of when he needed both hands to hold it.
Things have certainly changed.
Sitting down, he turned the plush over in his hands, so deep in thought that he didn't see his father leaning on the doorway.
"Your mother made that for you, you know," Stoick stepped inside, giving an apologetic look when his son jumped as he broke the silence. "At the time, I thought she was mad to do it. Dragons were our enemies, why make a toy of one for our child? But, your mother insisted. And who was I to deny her?"
"And it became my best friend," Hiccup said softly, keeping his eyes on the little dragon. "When...when I was little, I thought he was a guardian of sorts. That, that mom sent him to look after me."
"Perhaps he was, in a way. But now you have a new guardian." The Chief nodded outside, where Toothless ran around with Stormfly. "One that can do more than chase the nightmares away."
A smile tugged on Hiccup's lips. "Yeah. Yeah I do."
"I remember one particular night when you were...oh, I'd say five years old. There was a big storm. I swear Thor was right above us, wreaking havoc because we displeased him in some way." Stoick shook his head. "You ran in, crying. I think there had been a large bout of thunder that woke you. You know the only thing that calmed you down?"
Hiccup shook his head, and Stoick looked down at the plush. "That right there, son. You got it in your head that he was scared too, and needed to be comforted. You forced yourself to be brave, for him."
"I did?" He looked down at the plush, having a very vague memory of that night. "Yeah. Gods, I, I forgot about that!"
"You grew up too fast, son." Stoick clapped Hiccup's shoulder.
"I, I'm pretty sure I grew at less than the normal rate."
"Hm. You just were too excited and had to get a head start. Unfortunately, it didn't do you any favors, Hiccup. Regardless of that, time goes too fast, lad." The Chief's eyes misted. "You'll understand, when you have children of your own."
Hiccup blushed, averting his gaze, "Yeah, well...that, that probably won't be for a long time, dad..."
Stoick only chuckled, standing back up. "Get settled back in. Dinner will be ready soon."
As his father returned to the kitchen, Hiccup gently placed the toy back in place. He could have sworn he saw the button eye on the plush twinkle at him.
