TIMELINE NOTE: This para is set like 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to occur right after Atlantic City but we got carried away :3 (you know you loved it) so both of our characters are on campus currently.
Trish loved to travel. She loved going to new places and experiencing new cultures. And she even loved the work it took to get places, including it all in part of the journey. So when she woke up well before the alarm, that was supposed to go off at 4 am, it wasn’t shocking. She was just excited. To add to that, she was excited to be going on this trip with Hades. They had packed the night before and he had spent the night in her apartment to make leaving on time easier. It wasn’t uncommon for him to stay the night, but this time they actually got to get up and go somewhere together. Her mind was wide awake and she knew she was too eager to fall back asleep. She stayed in bed, mentally checking that had not forgotten anything. They had the tickets, they’d reserved the hotel – also mildly extravagant but she was very fond of the saying ‘go big or go home’ and he didn’t seem to object. Luggage was ready, Cerberus was left with someone. They’d be gone for a couple of days, but since it was summer vacation – no one would think anything of it. The alarm finally went off and Trish leaned across Hades to turn it off, placing a kiss on his lips in morning greeting. “Come on, baby. You can sleep more on the plane,” she smiled against his lips. They had a long day of travel ahead of them, all of it starting with the cab that would meet them at the gates of the school at 4:30am. They had an early flight to catch.
She got dressed in her comfortable travel outfit – a light dress, comfortable shoes and a light jacket – and they quickly exited her apartment, heading for the gates of the school. A taxi would be waiting for them to take them on the hour long drive to Boston where their plane would be departing from. The drive went smoothly, they checked in at the airport on time with an hour to spare. They had a quick breakfast in the terminal, not really talking but enjoying the atmosphere of the airport and the excitement of the trip. Time seemed to slip by quickly because before long they were being pulled down the runway and in line for takeoff. Trish looked out the window, being sure to lean back a little so Hades could see past her. She grinned in his direction - she loved to fly. The next 14 hours were spent mostly sleeping; using Hades as her pillow, because when they would land it would be nine in the morning. She knew the second they reached their destination that she’d want to get to the hotel, drop off their bags and then go straight into spending their time. She wanted to make sure she was rested, though she was certain the excitement of the new place would wake her up quickly. Why waste time sleeping when you could be experiencing new things? She was woken up by the intercom and the soft lowering of the plane signaling their approach into Athens. Quickly shaking the sleep from her eyes she sat up and looked out the window.
Grasping Hades’ hand to pull his attention, she pointed, “Look, We’re here!” She smiled as he looked over her shoulder and out onto the view, turning to plant a kiss on his cheek. The plane landed and before long they were outside of baggage claim, finally in the Grecian air. The sun was bright and the place itself seemed to radiate an aura of history and power. Locating a taxi was easy enough and they were whisked away to their hotel. The hotel was situated in the middle of Athens. There were sites, shops, restaurants and the beach all within walking distance. Their room was spectacular; complete with top tier living accommodations and a balcony with one hell of a view. Trish pushed the double doors leading out onto the balcony open and leaned against the railing. The ocean breeze tousled her hair lightly as she looked around the area. She turned, leaning her back against the stone barrier, to face Hades with a smile, “So? Has it sunk in yet? What do you think?”
