Intermission, but I was playing Greed Mode yesterday (as you do on Valentine’s Day) and got the donation machine to 999, at which point-

HELLO? WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME ABOUT THIS?! THIS IS SUCH A SOFT MESSAGE?! I DIDN’T KNOW THIS WAS A THING AND NOW I’M WRECKED? It hit me fully off guard, I wasn’t expecting anything and this little message is now living rent-free in my head? The YEARNING. No idea why it is a thing. Shouldn’t Keeper be reward enough? Is this the game playing on you, because for Keeper or not, in the end you grinded it out and donated this much and it has meaning- ... IF ONLY EVERYONE WAS AS GENEROUS AS YOU ARE... I’m trying to come up with something for this. But for now I’m just sitting here, clutching my chest. For the actual canon though I wonder- was Greed “reformed” by Isaac’s displays of generosity? Is that why you get Keeper? Is it actually more of a reformed Greed? Isaac overcoming his own worst traits maybe? I don’t know, but I have been gifted Serotine by Greed once again. Oh, on this note, shoutout to the “improved Greed Mode” Mod and who made it! It really was a blessing and made Greed mode into a full on pure serotine machine for me. A bigger range of items to choose from, more secret rooms, item rooms slightly tweaked and you can donate to the main machine on every floor, which is handy when you see you’re about to die. While I still like vanilla Greed Mode, I totally recommend anyone who can and who thinks of Greed Mode as grindy to check it out! I certainly am feeling much better being able to get Brimstone again.

Tip for getting greed mode donation machine unlocks (afterbirth plus only)

if you just so happen to have the poop or a card against humanity at the end of greedier mode, use it just before you kill ultra greedier because when he dies and turns the room to gold, he also changes any and all poops into golden poops.
