Arrow Analysis Season 2: Episode 4, The Island Haunts Arrow Once More

Let’s start out this edition of “Arrow Analysis” simply, any cynicism I had about Arrow this season died with this episode. There are issues with this episode of course, but there is so much good happening in episode four that the bad blurs into the background. Developments everywhere, story moving faster than you can blink, the flashbacks actually pushing the story forward, and it’s just amazing what one episode can do. Black Canary being in this series has been a major turning point for Arrow, all the characters are moving forward to where they need to go. Arrow was exciting to me this week, yes this was action packed, but it felt like the series was starting to evolve more. The statement going around of Arrow using the DC Universe better than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. using Marvel’s can be confirmed now. While Arrow tweaks with a lot of the established notions, it also uses that universe in ways I never quite expected. Making this my favorite episode of Arrow of the season thus far, and I get to explain to you why that is. That makes me excited.
