I'm sitting at my computer, sipping on a bottle of wine, then when it's finished I look inside it and see this beautiful psychedelic scene. The lights from my computer reflecting through the bottle created this really magical image, so I just had to take a snap of this awesome everyday art in reality
“Do you remember the first time we met?” Osamu mumbled into your side, arms strung loosely around your shoulders as you looked through your camera roll.
It was the evening of your anniversary and after a fun and busy day, you guys had finally got the chance to unwind and relax, good and warm memories swimming at the surface of your minds.
You shifted, leaning into his hold, “of course, that was the day we kissed, right?” A blush-coated Osamu’s face. “That was actually…my first kiss.”
A fond smile made its way onto his face as you blinked at him in shock. It was the soft, loving expression that would surface every time he remembered or when people asked how they got together.
The fond smile was often accompanied by you two exchanging amused smiles.
The way you two met wasn't exactly as romantic as Osamu hoped he would meet the love of his life or under his own terms.
Sandwiched between Suna and Atsumu who linked arms with his brother to keep him from escaping, Osamu watched blankly as the bottle spun in the large circle.
It had taken a large amount of food Suna promised to treat him to and blackmail from Atsumu to get him here but as he watched people make out as a game and people cheering for them, he felt like it was simply not enough.
His eyes tracked the bottle as it spun for what felt like the tenth time this afternoon and just when he was about to turn away, the bottle finally came to a stop, facing him.
“Ooooh, it’s about time it pointed at'cha, 'Samu! Now, who’s the lucky person to kiss my brother?” Osamu sent his brother a death glare and his brother looked away innocently, his innocent expression curling into a smile at something over Osamu's shoulder.
Osamu turned, noticing Suna's smirk as he lifted his cellphone, prompting a groan from the wing spiker.
The organizer of the party wasted no time in spinning it once more and before he knew it, his eyes followed the green-tinted bottle until it stopped and he made eye contact with you.
You didn’t move at first still processing the situation until your friend nudged you. “C’mon y/n, it’s your turn.”
You feel your throat go dry under everyone's gazes as they waited for you to react. You didn’t want it to be your turn, heck you didn’t even want to be here. Your friend had urged you to come after your other friend bailed, and to make matters worse, you were planning to sit out right after this round too.
But it seemed that fate, or you mused, a dirty green bottle missing it’s lid that had other ideas.
Although he wasn't fond of the game, his cheeks heated up when he realized he would get to kiss you. You were pretty, he noticed, meeting your eyes once more but somehow, it was your uncertainty that contrasted to the other pushy people in the room that comforted him.
Cheering from his brother and the group surrounded you two as he leaned forward halfway, giving you more than enough room to meet him in the middle in case you wanted to back out.
“Are you okay with-” his whispers were interrupted when your lips met his, the kiss becoming deeper than the two of you expected, not even noticing the room had momentarily become silent.
Your heart was doing backflips in your chest, as your lips melded against his, hoping your inexperience didn't show.
The spiker didn't seem to mind as you let your hands rest on his shoulders, his own heart running a marathon.
When you guys had broken apart, the cheering had become a notch louder and the weight of what happened brought red to your face.
You glanced at Osamu who was already staring at you, looking equally red. You wondered if you had embarrassed him but when you watched him become shy instead of laugh and brush off your kiss like the other guys in the group did after their turn, you felt relieved that it was him you kissed.
You thought back to the first time you noticed the spiker, your gaze had went to where his brother had latched to his arms. By the looks of it, he was a captive too, you smiled earlier.
He noticed your smile, and after glancing behind himself in case there was someone there (which there wasn't), he slowly smiled back.
It was now as he sent you a small nervous smile, which could have just been a pleasantry that you found yourself shyly returning it. His brother burst into laughter, ruining Osamu's moment and you watched him bicker with amusement.
You tried to ignore the butterflies that bubbled in your stomach as you reached to where his hand brushed your cheek gently cupping it during the kiss.
Once more the bottle spun in the circle and after their argument died down, Osamu avoided looking at Suna and Atsumu who without a doubt, sported amused smirks. Instead Osamu had already begun to fight the scene of what happened moments before in his head.
The scene that wouldn’t stop replaying as he took in your pretty eyes, the flash of a quick smile before leaning forward to meet him halfway, the nervous fiddling and cute blush that followed.
The short moment where you cast a final glance centimeters away as if he would draw away and it dawned on him you were even prettier up close.
He watched as you stood up, motioning for your friend to close the circle that he found himself subconsciously rising too. He was yanked down in an instant. “Hey, where do you think you're going, ‘Samu?” He had forgotten his brother was still holding him down.
Atsumu followed his brother's gaze as you exited the room and a smug expression resurfaced on Atsumu's face. “Oh, I see now. Well, have fun then.”
“Shut up.” Osamu grumbled as his brother wiggled his eyebrows at him. A moment later, he was released and stepped out as well, pausing as he saw you down the hall slipping on your second shoe.
“Hi, uh…are you leaving already?"
He didn’t want to make you uncomfortable or seem like a weirdo but he also considered leaving and was hoping you guys could...maybe...talk for a bit?
You scanned his expression, and his face tinted pink under your stare. You still didn't know him all too well and so you couldn't help but hesitate before answering his question.
“To buy some water, and a change of scenery to be honest.” A wave of relief flooded through him at your response as you wiped away at the dust that had left an imprint on your pants from the floor. He was quick to reply.
“The place kind of stinks, huh?” At your grin, he made his way halfway down the hall, dusting off his own pants. “Mind if I come with you?”
You turned from the cracked mirror to face him a small smile appearing on your face.
“Sure.”
With that, a warm smile makes it way onto his face as you text your friend that you're going with a guy from the party. Your friend was quick to send you a flurry of smirking and blushing emojis in response.
Soon enough you two have stepped out of the neighborhood. You guys milled about, soaking in the cool outside air and comfortable silence that accompanied it.
Osamu wasn’t the type to wonder what to say and instead let conversation flow naturally and so he instead remained thoughtful, quietly enjoying your company.
It was your apology that broke the silence.
“I’m sorry…about the kiss, I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable.”
Osamu blinked, “oh it’s okay, I thought I would be making you uncomfortable, kissing you, and joining you on your breather.”
Osamu glanced down at you and you were surprised by his straightforwardness. You shook your head, “no you're good, if anything, my friend was who dragged me here so she’ll be the one that owes me after this.”
Osamu grinned, “I could say the same for my brother, though from the look on his face I'm probably not going to live this down.”
You couldn't help but laugh which soon followed with Osamu's chuckling, as the irony of the situation hit you two. Just being outside of the dusty, unpleasant atmosphere of the party was refreshing to you and he smiled when he noticed your peaceful expression.
Soon enough after the shared laughter, you found yourselves becoming more comfortable with each other, and you find yourself bursting laughter as Osamu recounts his brother kidnapping him, the blackmail, and bribery that led him here.
Soon enough you guys shift onto other topics, the chatter leaving little to no room for the quiet atmosphere you relished in before getting to know him. It was almost too soon that you guys found yourselves at the convenience store.
Osamu felt a pang of hunger at the sight and although he wanted to buy something himself, he decided that you at least deserved a few minutes to yourself and waited outside as you quizzically casted glances over your shoulder.
“Aren't you coming?”
“Nah, I’ll wait for you out here…” his voice quieted and he scratched his neck, what you took as a nervous signal.
You could hardly call it him giving you privacy to do your own thing in the convenience store but as you opened the door you heard his voice. “Feel free to get me something though, if there’s no onigiri gimbap works too.”
You rolled your eyes at his cheekiness, grabbing what you needed after looking around. You soon came to a pause, unable to help the way your gaze shifted towards the snack section.
With a begrudging smile, you picked up the gimbap, getting one for yourself too before, settling things at the counter.
After this, you were likely to part paths and become strangers again, and it made Osamu more sad than he thought it would.
With all the lighthearted chatter and bickering, you guys didn’t even get to introduce yourselves, he wouldn’t even be left with a name after this.
A glum expression made residence on his face as he waited for you to return, waiting for the goodbye he hoped would only be temporary because maybe you had fun too?
You bumped the gimbap against his forehead on your tippy toes because you underestimated his height, knocking him out of his stupor.
”Oh, thank you.” He didn’t expect you to actually get him the gimbap but it filled him with warmth nonetheless. When you smiled, nodding to yourself the words spilled from his mouth.
“Want to lose the party and go somewhere else? I know this great food court that’s nearby that we can go to…if you’re okay with it.”
He had beat you to the punch, though you kind of felt happy that he didn't want it to end just yet either.
“Before that, don’t you think we should introduce ourselves?” You teased, noticing his blush of embarrassment. “Right, my name is ‘Samu.”
When he didn’t continue, you blinked at him. He was quick to add, “Since 'Tsu- I mean my brother, has the same last name, it gets confusing when people use our last names.”
It made sense but still felt a little strange to call someone you've only met today by their first name.
“Then I’m y/n...and about the food court, will it be on you~?” You were joking but as he paused to think a lightbulb blinked in his head. “Sure, if you give me your phone number that is.”
Osamu didn't remember ever being this forward and yet your reactions and smile stirred his heart and made him feel giddy like grade school kid with a crush. Though that wasn't all that different from his current situation.
You blushed, “Well…that might have to depend on the food.”
This time he read your joke, mirroring your smile. “That’s fair, do you think we’ll have more opportunities if the menu isn’t your thing?”
That was an easy question to answer, “I've never been one to refuse food.”
“I was really nervous, especially because you’re so pretty,” and you were, even surrounded by the other girls you were friends with under the yellow glow of the dimmed lights of the shabby room, you were like its centerpiece.
You grinned up at him, “Your nervousness made me nervous, though you’ll have to admit that I was a good kisser.”
“Nope, that would be me, I can even prove it to you if you’d like.” Osamu insisted and you guys burst into laughter.
It was all because of the green bottle that you met Osamu, scored his digits and kissed him all in the same day, and even had a fun date. There’s no imagining what road your love life would’ve taken without the bottle being the first push whether you wanted to admit it or not.
“Happy anniversary to us and the lovely green bottle, ‘Samu.”
He grinned, clinking the green translucent glasses that you guys had bought as a joke just for the occasion. “Actually, I’m pretty sure that Suna still has the video of us kissing-”
You groaned covering your face as he laughed, and soon you joined him, thankful for everything, especially the smiles and laughter that never seemed to disappear for long in your relationship.
