My grandparents and their parents with their families use to dive here back in the day and some still do. Crazy to think how much history and family memories are tied to this place. Still one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.

Fun fact:

🌺This area has long been a diving hotspot thanks to WWII wrecks in Simpson Harbour and vibrant coral reefs. Before the 1994 volcanic eruption, Rabaul was home to around 65 Japanese wrecks, which are now mostly overgrown with coral and home to some of the most unique marine ecosystems that are still explored by divers to this day. 🐠🪸

These plants need at least six hours of direct sunlight and a soil ph of 6.0 to 7.5. Newly propagated pads should not be watered for the first month, and after that, water them minimally twice a month. They are perennials. The ideal season to plant them is mid/late spring to early summer.
