Oh boy, this one is hard.
My pjo fics tag is basically entirely percabeth fics that I adore, but I just keep coming back to would it really kill you (if we kissed) by @greenconverses. It’s a roman!Percy AU and the characterization is so in-depth considering that the circumstances that shaped all of the characters have changed so drastically. Every character is just so well fleshed out and I admire it as both a fan and a writer.

But I’m really happy too. I spent the weekend with at the beach with friends and I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WENT IN THE WATER which ended up being fine with me because I just stood out there being inspired.

I feel like it's a pretty common thing, actually? In middle school, I was a bully to another girl - she was bigger than me, I was insecure about my own weight, and I wanted her friend to be my BFF instead. The three of us were low on the social totem pole in our class, and I didn't want to be on the bottom. We ended up in group counseling sessions, and /somehow/ came out of that as actual friends. But yeah. Not a proud moment in my life.
Yeah, honestly, that’s what it seems like? Especially that exact situation, just throwing someone else under the bus in order not to be the one at the bottom. And yet in discussions on it bullying is always something someone else is doing. Like there is only one Overlord Bully, somewhere, in charge of all the world’s bullying.
