"Greenfest"

Okay so I don't know how many other towns/cities do this, but if where you live doesn't have something like it, it's definitely something to check out or see if it can be established where you are.

In my town, we have a little weekend festival type thing called Greenfest. Here's about what goes down:

-Local recycling/trash collecting agencies come down and set up outside of the park. People from wherever can come down and recycle things for free (this past year we recycled an old car seat, a computer monitor, an old computer box, a printer, a keyboard, and glasses)

-Small local/green businesses set up stands and tents and sell green items (in past years I've seen artwork made of recycled items and beekeepers, selling flowers etc.)

-People living in the area have yard sales around this time too, since the town becomes pretty busy, despite it's small size

-There is live music sometimes too in the gazebo, if I remember correctly.

Greenfest is really and awesome thing, and I've talked to friends who don't live in my town who've never heard of it before, or don't have anything like it in their town. I've been going to this since I was little, and it's really a festival suitable for all ages, and influences us stay environmentally friendly in our every day lives.
