At the corner. Kabul’s day labourers waiting for a job. 90 percent of Afghans are living below the poverty line and 83 percent are living on or below $1.50 per day. I debated posting this photograph because I don’t photograph people begging for money. But this man was alongside a long line of day labourers, ready with their wheelbarrows to help out with anything, often wheeling groceries home for a few Afghanis. For me, the scene was it was a reminder of the economic situation in the country. After talking to them, one word rings through: Pride. Pride despite their difficulties and worries. Pride in their work, in their abilities and in their families. And they talked about how they joked together to help pass the long day. Their support and enjoyment of one another was very touching. #Kabul #Afghanistan Photo & words by Lynzy Billing @lynzybilling published on Wed April 21, 2021. #everydayafghanistan #everydaykabul #photojournalism #reportagespotlight #reportagephotography #dailylife #streetphotography #streetscenes #streetphotographyincolors #everydayasia #streetphotocolor #everydayeverywhere #greenhues #mobilephotography #labor #poverty #economiccrisis (at Kabul, Afghanistan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfrHafRNX6t/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
