The Lucky One - Greentia

For your 15 minute challenge, I am once again asking for greentia at a cat shelter
it is done! ofc i would for you babe honestly this is really fucking soft can't lie they're just like that as a ship huh
âRonnie! Look at this one!â Veronica turned around to see Tia bent down, staring at a black and white cat who looked back at her curiously.
âYouâve decided for us?â She walked over to join Tia in watching the cat, glancing at the sign on her cage she noticed the catâs name.
âHeather? Fitting for us, isnât it.â âHeather and Veronica? No. Canât say Iâve heard of anything like that.â Tia deadpanned, before laughing at her own joke so infectiously that Veronica couldnât help but join in. She jokingly shoved Tia, the taller woman smiling at the act. As they continued to watch Heather she walked closer, sniffing Tiaâs hand as she put it in the cage and meowing at her.
âRon, weâre getting her,â Tia stated, already eyeing up the desk to sign the documents. âThereâs no changing your mind is there? Sounds good to me.â Tia lept up with bright eyes and a grin, startling Veronica who returned to standing with a bit more grace. They walked over to the reception, Tia barely able to contain her excitement when they asked if she wanted to meet the cat.
There was something special about someone so tall and a small, fluffy little creature. Tia smiled throughout the whole act, Heather settling into her lap and purring contentedly as she was fussed over. Veronica snapped a picture, knowing sheâd appreciate it in the future.
Another member of their little family. It was almost euphoric to realise she was building a life with Tia, moving in together, getting a cat. It was everything sheâd ever dreamed of and watching them together just made it feel all the more real.
Tia beckoned her over, Heather looking at her curiously before moving to sit in between them, nuzzling her head into Veronicaâs hand as she began to pet the cat.
Yeah, this was the one. The person and the cat she wanted to spend her life with.

A writing exercise, taken from this post.
Note: not all of them will be of the same ship and i have not written for fun in a good 5 years so i do apologize beforehand for *gestures vaguely* all of this really, this one in particular has been written while under the influence of the Princess Diaries
Veronica has a type and the type is tall idiots. Her type is also her best friend, of course, which sounds ideal till you remember the idiot part.
An idiot attempting to wrestle her chips from a seagull.
"Tia just let it go!" she yells, alarmed by the idea of having to explain at the A&E just why her friend might need stitches for fighting a bloody bird.
It works enough to get Tia to look her way and let the seagull take her prize and go. By the time she looks back, the bird is gone.
"Why did we decide to eat here instead of staying at the chippy, again?"
Veronica huffs but can't help the fond smile that threatens to show, offers her own chips for sharing.
"Because the sun is setting and it looks gorgeous?"
And the sound of the waves is soothing and the whole idea of watching the sunset with the friend she's had a crush on for years sounded a lot more romantic in her head before the seagull attacked, but she has the good sense not to say that outloud.
Tia takes a look around to make sure there's no more seagulls before she takes one of the chips, sat next to her on a rock watching the water. She's all long arms and legs awkwardly bend onto herself to preserve body heat now that the sun is mostly gone, hurdles a bit closer to Veronica and well, Veronica can't say she minds really.
She can't help being pleased with these quiet moments together, maybe she ought to blame a childhood filled with Disney channel movies and a lifetime of musical theatre for the romantic notion, she knows she probably has got to do something about this unmanageable crush of hers but she doesn't quite know how or if she shouldâ
"You've got some on your face"
"Wheâ"
She doesn't get to finish the question, Tia's face is just right there and suddenly, her lips are very much pressed right at the corner of her mouth. Veronica stays there in stunned silence, long enough for Tia to step back with a look on her face that says she thinks she's made a grave, grave mistake.
"Iâ"
There's no grand orchestral music arrangement or fireworks and her foot didn't do the pop thing from The Princess Diaries but Veronica doesn't care, she wraps her arms around Tia's neck.
She can't help but sigh contently when Tia kisses her back.

âYouâve got another one, love,â Joe handed an envelope to her roommate as she returned from class, dropping her bag by her bed.
Veronica scrambled to sit upright as she snatched the letter and carefully opened it. âGosh, sheâs so well spoken,â she hummed as her eyes scanned the paper while her free hand twirled her hair around her finger.
âYou have any guesses on who it is?â she asked as she sat down. âI know weâve ruled out the girl in your History of Theatre class.â
âWell, Iâm still hoping itâs that girl who works at the campus library. She spent almost an hour finding the book I needed for that project. Sheâs so nice⊠and tall.â
Joe chuckled. âYou do like them tall. So whatâre you gonna do?â
Her eyes drifted back to the page. âShe said to meet her at starbucks tonight at six⊠oh my god, I better get changed!â
Finding just the right outfit nearly had Veronica running late, but she made it there just as the clock struck six.
âHey.â
She turned around and her face broke out into a broad grin. âYes!â she exclaimed before she could reel it in. She cleared her throat, glancing down as her face reddened. âI mean⊠hey.â
Tia laughed softly. âThere are worse reactions.â She shoved her hands into her pockets and chewed on her lip. âReckon itâs alright for me to ask you on a proper date then. Dinner?â
Veronicaâs smile instantly returned to her face as she nodded. âIâd love that.â
Could I request some Greentia please? đđ§Ą
Inbox still open!!!
Tia could see Veronica spiralling a mile off. Arguments over the rusical had gone on much longer than would probably be aired and had left a thick tension in the air.
âYou look like you could use either a shot of tequila or a hug.â Tia poked her head round the rack of clothes Veronica had hid herself behind. âUnfortunately, I can only offer the latter until Ginny finds a way to sneak some into the werk room.â
Tiaâs dopey smile and kind intentions were qualities impossible not to like about her and Veronica couldnât have been more thankful for them.
âCome here love.â Veronica fell into Tiaâs open arms, letting everything go in a deep breath into Tiaâs chest. âYouâre gonna be great, you hear me? Youâre gonna go out there and kill it.â The taller queen squeezed her tightly.
âThank you.â Veronica squeezed her eyes shut and sniffled. âI needed this.â
âAnytime Ronnie. Anytime.â
It was some hours before the last Jaeger would fall to a category four, and one way or another, Rosé knew her time as a pilot was near. She was heading to the launching bay with Priyanka, when she stopped in her tracks and said:
âPri, whatever happens, you know Iâll always consider you as part of my family, right?â To this day she doesn't know what possessed her to let those words escape her mouth. But she took the then doe-eyed, quiet kid by her shoulders and looked at her with a sincerity that left no room for doubts.
Priyanka had just frowned, but didnât ask where this was coming fromâthis was one of the few good days where RosĂ© had enough strength to leave her bed, to not succumb to daydreams and what-ifs. She would take what she could get.
âI know, Rosie, I know,â she said, placing her hand on top of RosĂ©âs, giving it a squeeze.
Neither of them knew that just hours later, another Jaeger would fall, prompting the world leaders to cancel the Jaeger program a few days afterwards.
