Rewatched parts of “Holding On” because 1) I’m a masochist and 2) I’m working on some gifs and can we like. Talk about how by season 8, Wilson is the defining one good thing about House’s life. When House hears that his prison sentence will be longer than Wilson’s remaining time left to live, there’s no question that he will do anything to have that time with Wilson. From the second Foreman says “Six months,” House’s mind is made up re: faking his own death, foregoing his medical practice, and running off to another country with Wilson. His love is that deep. House tells Wilson, “I’m not going to say I love you,” but that’s exactly what he does. That’s what giving Wilson his last Vicodin in The C Word was. That’s what the dinner date with the Oreos was, a heartfelt plea. Wilson mistook this as House’s selfishness--don’t leave him alone!--but it wasn’t because House wanted his best friend to keep him out of trouble and help him with cases. That was never it. It was because House loved him. And Wilson finally, tragically understood this right before their time together was about to be cut short, or even shorter than the cancer would have made it. Like a goddamn Richard Siken poem.

Anyway, I always come back around to these two and I think I always will love them. The gifsets I’m making stay breaking my heart :(
